I can’t believe it’s been a year since I brought Khloee home. I will never forget the text message I got with her photo. She had been left at the boarding facility that I’m the marketing director for, and it was kind of an emergency situation. The owner and manager of the facility didn’t know what to do with Khloee so of course they texted me. When I saw her photo, my heart melted. I knew that if she wasn’t going to be mine, one of my family members or friends had to take her!
When I was driving to go pick Khloee up, Matt called me. I remember saying “We’re getting another dog.” He couldn’t say much after that 😉
Since September 18, 2014, Khloee has grown so much. She was about three months old when we adopted her. Unfortunately we missed her socialization period so she’s very timid and shy around people and other dogs. We have taught her a lot and Matt has even done agility training with her.
What I love about Khloee is she is always happy. Matt and I call her “a dandelion floating in the wind.” She is extremely care free. The constant smile on her face is enough to make anyone cheer up.
Khloee has had a very exciting first year of life with us. She went to a pumpkin patch, had her first Christmas, hunted for Easter eggs, started agility, went to the beach…the list goes on!
Khloee can definitely be a handful. She likes to irritate the other animals when they don’t want to play. She loves to play in dirt and mud. She tracks leaves into the house on a daily basis. She wakes me up at 2am every morning…but I love her so much. Her cuteness makes up for it!
Khloee has brought such happiness, joy and trouble to our lives…in a good way of course! She and Wynston definitely have a big brother/younger sister relationship. Khloee even plays with our cat Sadie. She’s just a ball of friendly fluff! I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store for us!
Today, 9/18, is Khloee’s Gotcha Day! Do you remember the day you adopted your pets?
