When I rescued Wynston back in February 2012, I was single and living on my own in an apartment. At the time, I had bright pink flowery sheets because I was embracing my inner girly-girl. Over the years, Wynston has always preferred to sleep in the bed with me. I never thought anything of it until Matt and I moved into our house in 2013. I kept the pink sheets but they were on a bed in our guest room. Wynston started sleeping there on a consistent basis. After some time, I realized that he was sleeping on that bed because the flower sheets brought him comfort. In the meantime I was washing the sheets frequently and one day while they were in the washer, the unit completely broke down. I didn’t realize it for a few hours but when I did, the sheets smelled like mildew. I was very upset, thinking I was going to have to throw away Wyn’s comfort sheets. I put them in a plastic bag and put it in the garage. Thankfully we got a new washer and when I had the opportunity to try Febreze In-Wash Odor Eliminator, I knew the first product I was going to wash was the sheets. I wanted Wynston to be able to sleep on them again. The mildew smell was really awful and I didn’t have confidence that it would ever go away.
Mommy and Me Monday – The Dog Mom Life
As a dog mom, I believe that it’s necessary to spend quality time with each of my dogs. It’s a good bonding experience, and you get to know your dogs as individuals. When my three dogs are together on an outing, their listening skills decline and they act like monkeys in a circus. Take them all separately, and they are perfect angels. While we’re working on the whole “going out as a group” thing, I spend one-on-one time with each of my dogs. Today I took Wynston over to the Riparian Preserve for a relaxing nature walk. Perhaps I will start a new blog series – Mommy and me Monday!
Dog-Friendly Stores and Restaurants
Recently I was talking to one of my neighbors as we ran into each other while walking our dogs. We were gabbing about how beautiful the weather is but that it’s been unusually hot lately. The topic of Arizona summers came up and we discussed how it’s nearly impossible to walk our dogs when it’s 115°. It’s just WAY too hot for ourselves and our dogs. That brought us to talking about dog-friendly stores because it’s nice to be able to walk our dogs around air conditioned places. With that being said, here is a list of dog friendly stores and restaurants, although there may be others in your area that aren’t on the list.

It’s been two years since Dog Mom Days was born. I started blogging on December 19, 2013. Little did I know that this “hobby” would turn into a full fledged career.
Within the past two years I’ve had opportunities that I never thought I’d ever come across. Instead of boring you with the story of my blog’s growth, let’s recap some of the most exciting moments!
