This year has been full of “firsts” for us, so why stop now? You all know that I’m obsessed with pet events, and my goal this fall has been to check out new ones that I’ve never been to before. Wynston and I were blessed to get the invitation to attend Strut Your Mutt Phoenix, a national pet event hosted by Best Friends Animal Society. Wynston would be making a celebrity appearance and taking photos with attendees at the Instapet Tent, along with Instagram stars Stogie and Princess Lily Grumps. Count us in!!! That same evening was Dogtoberfest, a small local event a few miles from our house, and I wanted to be sure to check that out as well. Here’s a recap (with lots of photos of course) of the events!
6 Ways to Get Your Dogs Ready For Fall
Fall is upon us! Stores are putting up their Halloween merchandise and Facebook is going crazy with everything ‘pumpkin spice’. No complaints here – I love fall! The weather is starting to cool down (we’ve had days in the high 90s!) and I can actually sit outside in the morning to enjoy my tea. As we wrap up summer, let me share some ways you can get your dogs ready for fall.
From Halloween to New York City!
The time has come! I head to NYC in the morning for the Purina Better With Pets Summit! I am ecstatic and SO grateful that I am getting this opportunity. My sister just moved to Manhattan a couple weeks ago so I will get to see her while I’m there also. But first, a recap of our Halloween!
The Dog Party Hosts Howl-o-ween at Bink’s Midtown!
I don’t usually participate in Halloween events with my dogs because both Khloee and Wynston despise costumes. One year I got Wynston a cow outfit and he wouldn’t even move in it…anyways I saw a flier for Howl-o-ween hosted by Bink’s Midtown and The Dog Party and knew I had to go! I love The Dog Party and the wonderful ladies who own it so I figured I’d take Wynston. What’s better than enjoying a low-key Halloween event on the patio while eating yummy food and browsing dog mom merchandise? Sounds like the perfect Sunday to me!
DIY Halloween Doggy Treat Cups #TreatThePups
Halloween can be a scary time for dogs. With all of the sights, smells and sounds lurking around each corner, it’s important that we make our pets feel comfortable on this frightful day. Perhaps you have kids that are trick-or-treating this year, or maybe you’re like me and will be handing out candy. Either way, wouldn’t it be nice to include our dogs in this fun event as well? Last year I handed out bags of treats to dogs who were out with their families for trick-or-treating. This year I’m stepping it up a notch. I made some adorable treat cups for the neighborhood dogs, and they are simple and easy for anyone to make!
