Several years back I created a bucket list for Wynston. At that time I obviously couldn’t foresee the future, but now we’ve completed all but ONE item on that list. I figured it’s time for a fresh bucket list, especially considering Wynston has at least a decade of life left!
Wynston’s New Bucket List
Some items on Wynston’s original bucket list (which I first made in 2014) included going to the beach, winning a blue ribbon at an agility competition and flying on an airplane. Well, as you all know, those items were checked off by the time 2015 rolled around. Wynston first visited the beach in February 2014, won a blue agility ribbon in spring 2015, then flew on an airplane to Nashville in May 2015 (and we’ve flown a lot since then).
What’s the one item that we haven’t completed from that original bucket list? Take Wynston on a boat. I’d love to hit the water with my boy for a relaxing day. Whether it’s a fishing boat, pontoon boat or yacht, I want to experience a day on the water with my son. This brings me to our new and improved 2018 bucket list:
- Ride on a boat
- Visit Yosemite National Park
- Travel somewhere in an RV
- Attend a fall festival in New England
- Visit a ranch where Wynston can meet lots of other species of animal
- Go camping (like, in a tent. I’ve never been camping before…)
- Visit Carmel-by-the-Sea and stay at the Cypress Inn, a 44 room boutique hotel where dogs are welcome everywhere.
- Visit the Alamo and the River Walk (not sure why I want to take Wynston there so badly, but I do. Maybe it’s because I love San Antonio!)
- Visit the Grand Canyon
- Visit Colorado to see friends and the mountainous beauty
For my upcoming 30th birthday in July, I’d really like to take a trip to Carmel-by-the-Sea with Wynston. It looks like the perfect place for us to enjoy this big milestone that I have coming up! Carmel-by-the-Sea is quaint, extremely dog friendly, and the weather is perfect year round. We can experience the beach, local cuisine and fun shopping. It sounds absolutely perfect!
I know that certain places like Yosemite and the Grand Canyon only allow dogs in specified locations at the parks, but I think those would be great sites to stop at if we’re traveling through the area. Wynston and I love driving, so we plan to do more of it in the future.
I think my bucket list for Wynston is extremely realistic. I wouldn’t be surprised if we knock it all out within a few years and have to make a new one! Do you have a bucket list for your dog (or other pet)? What’s on it?! I’d love some more ideas!

So WE could help with several of Winston’s bucket list… We live in Central California, on a short drive to Yosemite National Park. We own a ski boat and could take you all out for a day on the water at one of our local lakes. Finally, we are backpackers and campers owning all of the equipment/gear. Sooo have a made the argument for a visit? BOL

I’m not sure and don’t wanna give you wrong info. I’d seek out a holistic vet!
