Roses are red, violets are blue. I love doggy paws, and kitty toes, too!
February is the month of love – chubby babies are flying around with bows and arrows, heart shaped candies reel us in at the grocery store, and Hallmark is making a killing in the meantime. But aside from the commercialized Valentine’s Day holiday, let’s focus on the aspect of love. Granted, I tell my dogs and cats I love them a bajillion times each day, but now’s a great time to be especially mindful of what our pets do for us. While they show us unconditional love, don’t we owe it to them to do the same? For February’s Appreciate the Moments photo challenge, let’s remember how much our pets bring to our lives.
Appreciate the Moments
Our house is currently up for sale, and man is it a pain! Dealing with showings while working from home is not only stressful, but add three dogs in the mix and you have me on the verge of a stroke. This past week has been insane. My dogs sense the transition and they know something is going on. I keep putting them in the car to leave the house during showings. I’m constantly cleaning and picking up the house. The dogs have been getting lots of treats from drive thrus when we need to leave for the showings. I can sense the feeling of uneasiness.
The other day I looked at my dogs and told them how grateful I am for them. They have been so patient while we’ve had to show the house. They get excited every time we get in the car, and they are calm and well-behaved when we drive everywhere. They are really hanging in there with me, and I feel an immense amount of gratitude for all three of my angels. I took a perfect photo for February’s “love” photography challenge. After all, dogs really do leave the most precious paw prints on our hearts.
The amount of love I have for my kids is immeasurable. I mean, I didn’t get a tattoo of Wynston’s paw prints on my arm for no reason 😉 I love Wynston, and my other five kids with every ounce of my being, and this month I am going to celebrate that feeling!
Whether you’re single, married or have a wonderful life partner, remember that pets always bring us love that humans may not be able to. This February I’m focusing on the love I have for Wynston, Khloee, McKenzie Rae, Joey, Sadie and Leila because I’m entirely grateful for them.
