Dogs show us unconditional love. All they want in return is, you guessed it, love. Let’s show our canine companions how much we appreciate them by making them as happy as they make us.

It’s Official: First Agility Trial, Here We Come!
At the beginning of the year, I made one simple goal for Wynston and I; to compete in an agility trial and win a blue ribbon. Well, we are officially registered for our first USDAA trial, which will take place on March 14-15th.
We’ve been working really hard. Wynston is ready. Me…probably not so much. Although I am SUPER excited for the trial, I am also super nervous. Wynston really feeds off my energy so I’m trying to just get pumped up without all the nerves.
The trial will be held at Club Doggie, which is the club where we train. It’ll be nice to have our first competition experience at a place where we are truly comfortable.
Originally, Wynston and I were going to run the starters jumpers course which consists of 14-16 obstacles; tunnels and hurdles. But tonight at class, my trainers convinced me and a classmate to team up for a pairs run. This means that we will each run 9 obstacles in the same ring with our dogs. For example: Jen (my partner) will run the first 9 obstacles with her dog as Wyn and I wait on the side. Then when she’s done, Wynston and I finish it off with the other 9 obstacles while she waits in the ring on the side. Honestly, we’re both beginners and we’re both a little bit crazy, so I am ecstatic to get the experience!
If you’re in the area, come on by to the trial and check it out! Wynston and I will be running on Sunday, March 15th!

I’m a 2015 BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Award Finalist!
So. Holy crap. This is not really happening.
I’ve been planning my trip to the big BlogPaws conference in Nashville, TN in May. I was thinking about getting Wynston a custom made tuxedo jacket for the event and yesterday I was joking with Matt when I said “Okay, if for some extremely crazy reason that I am a finalist for a Nose-to-Nose award, I’m going to order him a custom jacket.” Of course, neither of us thought I’d be a finalist. Custom tuxedos are EXPENSIVE!
No joke, when finalists were revealed during BlogPaws Twitter chat tonight, I scrolled down the list and jumped out of my chair when I saw Dog Mom Days listed under the “Best New Pet Blog” category…
Tears. Oh, the tears.
I’ve been working so hard on my blog. I started blogging in December 2013, and here I am, all of those 3am nights paying off.
All finalists were nominated in January of this year. The judges went through over 1,000 nominations to reveal the 48 finalists in 12 categories. I am one of 4 finalists in my category. This is not happening…there are several thousand bloggers in the BlogPaws community alone!
Am I in a dream?
What’s crazy is that enough people read/like my blog for me to become a finalist for Best New Pet Blog. Wow.
In the meantime, I need a new dress!!!!!!!! The winners will be announced at the red carpet ceremony in Nashville on May 30th. I am so honored to be nominated for Best New Pet Blog with these other fantastic blogs:
The True Story of a Not So Crazy Cat Lady
Thank you too all of my readers, friends and family for always supporting me and believing in me! I love you all! And a huge thanks to the BlogPaws community for teaching me so much!

March is Adopt a Rescue Guinea Pig Month!
I am so thrilled that there is a month dedicated to guinea pigs! I’ve had a guinea pig in my life for over 6 years now. I recently lost my Kirby on 1-23-15 and shortly after, I rescued my Sammie from AZ Piggie Poo Rescue. I also started volunteering for the rescue and it’s been amazing!
