Cleaning is life. Well, maybe not, but it sure does feel like it when you’re a pet parent. Whether you have one pet or five, piles of pet hair end up in corners of your house, dirty paw prints create art on your floors or you’ll occasionally see the ghost of floating hair. Here are seven must-have cleaning products for pet parents, all of which I swear by!
The one question I get on a consistent basis is, “We want to add a new pet to our family. We want to adopt but we don’t know where to start! What should we do?” I have some recommendations for you.
When Matt and I rescued McKenzie Rae in November 2015, we thought she had to be part coyote or deer. I mean, she looks like a baby wild animal (and she acts like one…)! I guessed that she had some Whippet or Italian Greyhound in her genetic makeup. After performing a DNA test, we found out that McKenzie Rae is a Chihuahua, Labrador Retriever and Samoyed mix. Weird, eh? She’s not exactly white and fluffy, but she also has about 2-3 unknown breeds in her. Perhaps she is part coyote and we’ll never know 😉 Technology has come such a long way, and not only are DNA tests on the market but Royal Canin® now offers a Genetic Health Analysis (GHA). GHA is more than a DNA test so let’s dive a little deeper.
Dog mom life can seem glamorous. Red carpet events, fancy doggy fashion shows, cool adventures, fun photo shoots. It all looks super great on the outside. I suppose it’s kinda like human moms. We see all the photos of adorable smiling faces at the park but what we don’t see is the tantrums, screaming and tears that come later. With that being said, there are many things that dog moms do that we don’t really want to do. We deal with difficulties like human moms, just in a different way. Instead of talking about how fantastic my dog mom life is, I’m going to get real here.
I bought my first dog stroller back in 2013. At that time, people still thought dog strollers were kind of silly. “How stupid! Why would you push your dog in a stroller? Your dog is not a kid!” Here we are in 2016 and although some people still think that way, dog strollers have become much more mainstream. Pet parents are starting to realize the advantages of using a dog stroller. They aren’t just for small dogs anymore, and before you go making judgement, hear me out.
