This summer I’ve been especially struggling with the Arizona heat. Maybe it’s because I’m older or maybe it’s because I want to be more active outdoors. Whatever the case is, the brutal Arizona summer has been keeping me indoors and causing major cabin fever. As of this last week I hadn’t traveled anywhere with Wynston for a month and a half so I felt the dire need to get out of the house. Since my mom has a home in Payson, AZ (northern Arizona) I figured it’d be the perfect getaway for a few days. We could escape the heat, get out of the house and potentially explore. I wanted to take Wynston on a new mountainous adventure because I’ve been craving time in the great outdoors, and turns out we had a lot more fun than we anticipated!
Summertime Travel Tips for Pet Parents
Summer tends to be the season of travel. Kids are off from school, many corporate industries slow down and the weather is nice in a majority of the country. As all of my vacations include Wynston, it’s becoming mainstream for families to include their dogs in travel plans. Summertime offers potential weather risks that may not exist other times of the year, such as overheating, monsoons or terrible humidity. Consider these summertime travel tips for pet parents if you’re hitting the road or skies with your pup this season.

Our Stay at the Dog-Friendly Mandalay Bay Las Vegas
It had been six years since I’d been to Las Vegas when I stepped foot into Mandalay Bay for the 2018 SuperZoo event. Vegas isn’t really my style, as I’m not into the night life or drinking. However, I was over-the-top excited to attend SuperZoo, as I’ve always wanted to go. While you’ll see a complete recap of SuperZoo, I decided to create a separate blog post about our stay at the dog-friendly Mandalay Bay. There is a lot to share and talk about!
How to Choose a Dog-Friendly Vacation Destination
I don’t travel without Wynston. Actually, I did once, and that was when I took my mom on a cruise as a surprise. But given the true choice, I will not travel without my boy. In fact, one of the reasons I like traveling so much is because Wynston is my travel buddy. Taking him on new adventures and creating memories together is what makes traveling fun for me. If you’re looking to visit a new place with your dog, you’ll obviously want to pick a location that welcomes dogs. Here are some tips on how to choose a dog-friendly vacation destination.
