For as long as I can remember, I’ve been extremely fascinated by the Titanic ship disaster. Dating back to the 4th grade, I can recall making presentations to classmates throughout my schooling about the great tragedy. In college I went as far as driving two hours so I could attend a private Titanic museum exhibit. All of this time, however, I’ve always wondered about the fate of the first class dogs aboard the luxury liner. What kind of dogs were on board? Did they survive? What are their stories?
The Haboobs Are Back!
One of the things I love about Arizona is our lack of crazy weather. We don’t have to worry about hurricanes, tornadoes or blizzards (at least in central AZ). Arizona does, however, have something that is foreign to a majority of the country – haboobs, an Arabic word for dust storm.
Book Review: Saved By Gracie
I have never been a reader. I’ll be honest – I don’t like to read. I read quickly, and very well, but I don’t read unless I have to.
My Bachelor’s degree is in history and culture. You can imagine I had to write and read A LOT in college. I was okay with reading at the time because I enjoyed the topics I was studying. Ask me how many books I have read since I graduated college in 2011…maybe one? Two?
I honestly never thought I’d do a book review on my blog until I received the opportunity last week to delve into this wonderful book and share my thoughts on it. Boy, am I glad I did. I am writing this review in exchange for 3 copies of the book Saved By Gracie, written so beautifully by Jan Dunlap.
