The time has come! I head to NYC in the morning for the Purina Better With Pets Summit! I am ecstatic and SO grateful that I am getting this opportunity. My sister just moved to Manhattan a couple weeks ago so I will get to see her while I’m there also. But first, a recap of our Halloween!
I like Halloween, but I really don’t like getting dressed up in a costume or going to raving parties like many people do. Matt and I live in a suburban neighborhood with lots of kids, so this is the third year we’ve just given out candy. We enjoy decorating the outside of our house and seeing all of the kids dressed up in their super cute costumes. It sounds kinda lame, but we have fun!
This year was extra special because my mom spent the evening with us. I cooked dinner and we relaxed, watched the World Series and gave out candy until the last kid came around at about 8pm. We also played board games, which was hysterical and so much fun. I haven’t played a board game with my mom in years. It’s something Matt and I like to do together and it was a blast to include my mama!
Wynston and Khloee were beyond thrilled to have their Grandma over. My mom is the only person Wynston doesn’t bark at in the house. He literally smiles and runs around with excitement when she comes over. As for Khloee, there is really no describing her happiness when Grandma comes over. It’s borderline insanity.
Now, Wynston does not like the doorbell. He will bark and bark and bark when it rings. I ended up having to put him upstairs while the trick-or-treaters came around. I kept the front door open and put a baby gate up so the doorbell didn’t ring, but Wyn could hear the kids and that was enough to rile him up. Khloee greeted the children with a wagging tail, then got bored of it and slept on the couch.
Our evening was simple but wonderful. Another Halloween success! Today I got all packed up for New York. I will only be there for two nights so there isn’t a ton to pack. Luckily the weather will be beautiful when I’m there, so I didn’t need to pack any heavy clothing. My flight leaves at 7:20am tomorrow morning and I get into JFK at 2pm EST. The Better With Pets Summit is on Tuesday and I’ll be home by noon on Wednesday!
I can’t wait to share my experiences with everyone when I get home from NYC. As a pet blogger, it’s such an honor to be attending an amazing event like the Better With Pets Summit, especially since the invitation came from Purina. In the meantime, be checking social media for updates and photos while I’m away!
