I grew up in Ahwatukee, a gorgeous suburb in the southern part of Phoenix, AZ. It’s a safe, close knit community where people tend to raise their families and end up staying because it’s such a wonderful place to live. I went to elementary school, middle school and high school in Ahwatukee, so it was such an honor to be interviewed by the local Ahwatukee Foothills Newspaper about my recent BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Award nomination!
I’ll cut to the chase. This morning I got a call from my mom. It basically went like this:
“Hey honey, how are you?”
“I’m great! What’s going on with you?”
“Oh well, I’m just working, sitting here reading your newspaper article in the Ahwatukee Foothills newspaper!”
“Omg no way!! I had no idea it’d be out so soon!!!”
“Yes I picked up the paper this morning before I went to work so I could flip through it, and I’m sitting here reading it when all off a sudden I was like…omg that’s my daughter!”
Hahahaha I love my mom. What a great way to start the day! She’s going to pick me up a bunch of paper copies, but in the meantime, I found the article in the online edition and here it is!
It is so exciting to be in a newspaper that hits so close to home! I feel like my community has a reason to be proud of me and I am so excited to represent Ahwatukee! I’ve been in magazines and other publications, but this one truly means a lot to me!
