It’s here, folks. Can you believe it?! Matt and I are less than 48 hours away from getting married. Many of you have known me since Matt and I had only been together for about six months! I can’t believe the day has come and I couldn’t be more excited…and tired.
I’m one of those girls who’s always dreamed about getting married, but that doesn’t mean I rushed into it. I’m 28 and I’ve been with Matt for 3.5 years. Marrying him will truly be the best day of my life.
What’s better is that all three of my dogs will be at our wedding. Not only that, but each of them will be walking down the aisle at our ceremony. It will be undeniably special and I can’t wait to share photos with you!
I did suffer a slight setback last week. Well, it wasn’t slight, it was actually major. On Tuesday I woke up with a swollen cheek. By Thursday morning I was in the dentist chair undergoing surgery. My emergency dental procedure took 4 hours. Yes, 4 hours. One of my teeth got infected and the infection had spread. I ended up having a tooth removed and a root canal on the tooth next to it. Despite five rounds of the numbing agent and endless nitrous gas to calm me down, it was the most painful experience of my life. I slept for two days after that. Although the scenario was horrific, at least it didn’t happen this week! The swelling has mostly gone down. By Thursday I should be good to go. I head to the dentist in the morning to make sure everything is coming along well.
The entire ordeal has exhausted me. Family started coming in today and as excited as I am, my energy is lacking. We had our wedding rehearsal today and my best friend, Andria, and I got our nails done for the big day. By the time I got home around 4pm, I wanted to fall asleep. So here I am, in bed, attempting to stay awake. I have an early call for the dentist tomorrow and we are hosting the rehearsal dinner at our home in the evening. I’m beyond thrilled to have all of our family at our new home! I pray that I have more energy for that.

So here’s the schedule for Thursday:
9am – hair/makeup and photographer will be at my house. My mom, best friend, grandma and I will be drinking champagne and getting our hair and make up done. My photographer will be there to document the experience. I’m elated that I’m getting ready for the wedding at my house. It’s extra special to me. I’ll be able to look back at our photos and remember our wedding day from the first house Matt and I ever owned.
1:30pm – head over to our venue, Villa Siena. Take some more photos, put on my gown. Matt and I aren’t doing a first look, but we are doing a first touch so we can pray together.
2:45pm – My friends Lisa and Sara will be at the venue to help me with McKenzie and Khloee. We’ll get them dressed and I’ll hand them off. I’m so appreciative of Lisa and Sara helping me out with the girls and walking them down the aisle. Andria will be walking Wynston but he doesn’t take much preparation. And he’s super easy. (Matt will have all three dogs at my mom’s house that morning).
3:30pm – the ceremony begins. By 4pm I will be Mrs. Genovese!
5:30pm – we make our grand entrance into the reception, and party for the rest of the night!
So as of this moment, I’m in bed trying to get a last bit of relaxation in while I can! It will be a whirlwind of craziness the next couple of days. As soon as I have any wedding photos to share with you, I will do so via Facebook, so make sure you follow us!
Love you all!
So so excited for you! Can’t wait to see pics!
Best wishes for a very happily ever after, Amanda. ♥ ♥
