Our Lunch Date at the Dog-Friendly Ginger Monkey Restaurant

September 22, 2017 By Amanda Leave a Comment

Ginger MonkeyRecently I asked my friends for suggestions of local dog-friendly restaurants that they’d recommend. The keyword here is “local.” There are lots of places that welcome dogs on their patios but many of them I can go to anywhere in the US. I wanted to take Wynston somewhere new and original because lately I’ve been craving adventure. I invited my mom and Cooper for lunch at the Ginger Monkey in Chandler, AZ and it did not disappoint. It was the perfect way to ring in the fall season!

The Ginger Monkey

The Ginger Monkey is a restaurant and bar which offers New American cuisine. They have over 30 beers on tap and TVs for every football game. It’s definitely a hoppin’ spot for a Friday night out or Sunday football game.

The entire restaurant is super clean and nicely kept. The patio is absolutely fantastic. We were able to get shade and the weather happened to be gorgeous for our lunch date. The patio is open to the inside of the restaurant, creating a big open space. I loved the atmosphere.

We were immediately greeted by Ashley, an extremely sweet and hard-working waitress. She served Wynston and Cooper water in their own separate bowls, which any pet parent can appreciate! Ashley also gave us some doggy menus. My happiness scale at that point was through the roof! A restaurant that caters to dogs as much as humans? Sign. Me. Up.

Oh, and they have Coke products. #winning

I was craving a burger after my recent dental surgery, so I ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. It was huge and delectable. I would highly recommend it. Wynston ordered the Pup Patty to share with cousin Cooper. It’s a good thing we ordered the doggy meal to split between the boys because they could have even split half of a half! You definitely get your money’s worth. If you have a big dog, the portions are perfect.

Mmmmm!!!

Wynston and Cooper were huge fans of their Pup Patty meal. Admittedly they both left some rice after eating most of it with their hamburger. Needless to say, they were exhausted after their delicious lunch. I brought Wynston in his stroller so he just relaxed the entire time and enjoyed the breeze. Cooper wanted to say hi to everyone and got lots of attention! Wyn was fine hanging out in his cozy corner. Have I mentioned how easy he is?!

I highly suggest Ginger Monkey to anyone looking to hit up a restaurant with a modern vibe and fun atmosphere. I already can’t wait to go back with Wynston for more dog mom dates.
