Arizona Animal Welfare League & SPCA (AAWL) is the largest and oldest no-kill shelter in Arizona. This year I am making it my mission to become more involved in their cause, as I’ve been an avid AAWL supporter for years. Now I want to take my support a step further, and to do that I am sponsoring an adoptable dog and cat each month! Without further adieu, meet our January AAWL adoptable cat of the month: Boggs! This bobtail beauty is sure to win your heart over!
Boggs is an extremely handsome (and big) Japanese Bobtail/mix who is SO much fun to be around. He’s definitely not a lazy cat – Boggs has lots of energy, which makes him exciting and amusing to watch. He loves to play with toys and wrestle, and that can result in some mouthiness. Right now his favorite toy is a squeaky pink elephant! Boggs is about nine months old and he’s been at AAWL a majority of his life waiting for his forever family.
Is Boggs good with other animals?
Boggs would be great with a playful kitten or active cat. Due to his energy levels, Boggs would probably not do best with a senior cat, or a cat who needs lots of space. Boggs could potentially do well with dogs, depending on personality.
What type of home is best for Boggs?
Boggs will thrive in a home with structure. He could use a kitty friend that will teach him proper manners. A patient family is a must for Boggs.
How can I meet Boggs?
You can come down to the AAWL shelter and meet Boggs for yourself! You can spend time playing with him, which he will thoroughly enjoy (and I know from experience). AAWL also offers “sleepovers” in which case you can take Boggs home for about a week to see how he does in your house environment with your other animals, etc.

I am absolutely in love with Boggs. His pink nose is irresistible, and he very much deserves an amazing home who will appreciate his personality. If you’re looking for a spunky new family member, Boggs could be purrfect for you!
