Cleaning is life. Well, maybe not, but it sure does feel like it when you’re a pet parent. Whether you have one pet or five, piles of pet hair end up in corners of your house, dirty paw prints create art on your floors or you’ll occasionally see the ghost of floating hair. Here are seven must-have cleaning products for pet parents, all of which I swear by!
Must-Have Cleaning Products for Pet Parents
Swiffer: Swiffer is a must, especially if you have tile and wood floors throughout your house like I do. It’s a disgusting thought but I had no idea how much my cats shed until we moved into a house with wood floors. I have to Swiffer every other day at the very least. When it comes to cleaning products for pet parents, this is probably my most-used item.
Swiffer dusters: As if the genius invention of the Swiffer wasn’t enough, along came Swiffer dusters. These are amazing because dust, dander and hair clings to it. They are easy to use, dispose of and replace.
Method products: I love Method because they don’t test on animals. We use their hand soap, dish cleaner and granite cleaner for our countertops. You can purchase Method products at Target.
Hand vacuum: A small, light vacuum is a must. It will pick up all of the extra hair and crumbs that your Swiffer may have missed. You can store it anywhere and it’s not a pain to carry around the house if necessary. I use this small Bissell vacuum, and it’s lasted me three years so far!
Wood floor mop: The wood floors in my kitchen and family room area are constantly getting autographed with little paw prints. Maybe my animals were outside when the sprinklers were on or perhaps they got too crazy with the pet fountains. Either way, it’s not good for my wood floors to have water and dirt drying on them all the time. I keep a wood floor mop (I use this Bona hardwood floor mop) in a closet off our main living area so I can take it out to use whenever I need. Keeping it close to the main traffic area ensures I won’t get discouraged from having to walk too far to get it. (What?! I’m lazy!)
Disinfecting wipes: I always stay stocked up on disinfecting wipes. There are several brands out there to choose from. I use them to clean my kitchen and bathroom counters. They are also good for quick floor clean up that may include bodily excretions…
Hand broom: Man, I love my dang hand broom. I got it for $1 at the Dollar Store. AND it has a dog on it. It’s nice to use if there’s extra kitty litter on the ground and spilled dog food. I use it every single day.
The seven cleaning products I listed are essential for me as a pet parent. Of course I use others, but these are my favorite and most frequently used. What cleaning products or brands do you swear by for cleaning up after your pets?

I love my swiffer, it’s a godsend. I’ve always wanted to try the Method products, good to hear they are effective. Sounds like a trip to Target is in order, no arm twisting needed, of course!

My favorite Cleaning Products I swear by and use every single day would be my Lint Rollers, I can’t live without that at all. As well as the Swiffer Dusters, Swiffer Sweepers, Antibacterial Wipes, and Bleach. Sometimes I wonder how 2 little Chi’s could lose so much hair, lol.

Lint roller is a great one to add to the list. Matt would appreciate it since he always needs one for his work pants 🙂
