Whenever I talk to people about Wynston, I like to joke and say “My life totally revolves around him!” But gosh, this week it really hit me that my life truly does revolve around him. It’s not just a joke anymore – this is serious business! I’m like a pageant mom…but better.
I started this blog on December 19, 2013. By then I had come a long way with Wynston in terms of his training and confidence since rescuing him in February 2012. I wanted to share our journey together so people could see what some love and patience can do for a rescue dog. During the time I’ve been working from home, our bond has grown immensely. We are attached at the hip. Wynston is my shadow and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Okay. Soooo I started this blog because of Wynston. Now my blog is my full time job…because of him. I can work from home for myself because Wynston inspired me so much. I’m going to the BlogPaws conference with Wynston (OMG I can’t wait to be in Nashville with him!)…because he’s the reason I blog. It all comes back to him.
This week was insane. Wynston had 3 photo shoots. THREE. Not to mention the fact that we had an agility trial last weekend. Saturday trial, Sunday trial, Monday photo shoot. I’m like a human mom who drives her kids to soccer games or a dance recital. I took Wynston to another photo shoot on Thursday AND Friday. Jeez. Wynston is my full time job…
I love it. I love it so much. I soak it all up because I feel so blessed. I enjoy telling people that he models for PetSmart (read my post about how he went from puppy mill to PetSmart model!) and how he competes in agility. I especially like when people ask what I do for a living. When I respond with “I’m a pet blogger!” I always get a blank stare. Then I follow up with telling them what I blog about and why I do it. I treasure every moment that I can make Wynston my world, even if it’s just talking about him.
I was able to turn my passion for animals, my love for Wynston and my desire to work from home into a career and amazing lifestyle. If people judge me, I could really care less. Can they say that they followed their dreams? Can they say that they do something they love? Can they say that they are their own boss? Most likely not. I’m one of the proudest dog moms you’ll ever meet. My life does revolve around Wynston…and I’m loving life!

I really love this post, I can totally relate. My husband and I laugh at how much our lives now revolve around our dogs, we do everything with them and because of them. I get the blank stare from people too when I say I’m a Pet Blogger, I think they don’t know what to do with that information LOL! My friends think I’m nuts and don’t get it at all. That’s why BlogPaws is so important to me, I get so much support from the community. Feels good to follow your passion, doesn’t it!?

BP is so important to me for that reason also. We can all understand and support each other! Luckily all of my friends are dog moms so they don’t think I’m crazy. But most people don’t understand why I blog or why I am obsessed with Wynston. I say, blessed is the person who has earned the love of a dog like I have!
