Everybody loves puppies. They are cute, cuddly and do the funniest things that we see all over YouTube and Facebook. But how many people really take the time to think about the responsibility that comes along with adopting a puppy? Training, proper nutrition and grooming are just a few aspects of puppyhood that people forget about when they see that super fluffy adorable puppy staring at them. Well, Purina is here to help get you on the right track. They have launched an amazing virtual road map to guide people in the ways of puppyhood, whether you have just adopted a puppy or are considering it. This website will give you the customized experience you need to raise the perfect dog!
The first puppy I ever adopted was a corgi. He came from an accidental litter and was a mere 8 weeks old. Back then, we didn’t have the amazing online resources that we do today. I read books and got my information from fellow dog lovers. When I rescued Khloee in September 2014, the situation was different. Everything we need to know is on the internet! But wouldn’t it be great to have puppy specific information all in one place, catered to you and your new dog’s needs? That’s where the Purina Puppyhood center comes in.
When you first go to puppyhood.com, it will prompt you to register. The site will ask you a few questions about yourself and some questions about your new puppy if you’ve already adopted one.
As you can see in the photo above, once you register you’ll have access to a milestone tracker, expert advice, and information on training, grooming, nutrition and everything else that’s necessary to raise a healthy puppy. The registration process is very simple and user friendly. I entered in all of my information for Khloee since she is still a puppy.
Once you’re registered, you can start exploring the website. Under each main tab, there are articles and guides to steer you in the right direction. From feeding guidelines to choosing the best food for your puppy, with Purina Puppyhood, you won’t be lead astray.
Thinking of adopting a puppy?! Learn about every breed and find the match that’s best for you. You can choose the activity level, grooming, size and temperament that you’d prefer and Puppyhood.com will help narrow down your choices. You will be able to research breeds so you know exactly what you’re getting into. It also has a name generator and puppy prep checklist so you’ll have an idea of what puppy accessories and supplies you’ll need – how cool is that?!
Joining the Purina Puppyhood center will give you a customized learning experience, tips and tools for responsibly raising your puppy. You will also receive exclusive benefits and coupons. Some of the most valuable resources that Puppyhood offers (in my opinion!) are community resources and a milestone tracker so you can see first hand how your puppy is growing and progressing.
If you have a puppy or are thinking about adopting a puppy, Purina Puppyhood is for you! Whether you want to do extensive research before you adopt or you’re put in an emergency rescue situation like I was with Khloee, this virtual knowledge center has everything you need to make it the best experience possible. So what are you waiting for? Head over and get started on your journey through Puppyhood today!

I haven’t checked out the site yet but I will be after this. I think this can be extremely useful for anyone that’s raising a puppy; so many of them are surrendered after the cuteness wears off and I think a lot of it is because people don’t know how to effectively train and/or they didn’t realize how much work it was going to be in the first place. It’s so sad to see dogs being given up; but hopefully having a “one stop shop” will give people the opportunity to learn all sorts of great information about their new puppy & help them figure out how to turn them into the perfect canine companion.

It’s a super fun website. I like how organized and simple it is to navigate. I hope more people will take advantage of these tools and be fully prepared before bringing home a puppy. I think with tools like this, we can raise awareness and slow down the rate at which dogs are being surrendered due to lack of training.
