This is the third year we’ve gone to the annual Woofstock event in Chandler, AZ. It’s funny because in 2013, it was freezing with an intense wind. Last year it was hot. Today was perfect, around 70° and sunny! It was a wonderful morning to be outside with the dogs.
What I love about Woofstock is the fact that it has something for everyone. Agility, K-9 unit and flyball demonstrations. Vendors and rescues for pet parents. Non-pet related booths. Food trucks, a dog park, a Veterans walk and a playground. It’s an extensive annual event, and it’s fun to just walk around and look at all of the beautiful dogs. Today I didn’t see any prong collars! Yesssss.
Khloee and Wynston did really well, as usual. Khlo gets a little more excited than Wynston but other than that, they are super well behaved. We participated in the walk to support military veterans and browsed all of the booths. We concentrated most of our time around the demonstrations, rescues and pet related vendors.
There were lots of rescues at the event today, which I love to see. Volunteers were walking around with dogs that sported “adopt me” bandannas, which is a typical sight at Arizona pet events. I was happy to see MCACC out at Woofstock today to adopt some of the shelter dogs out. They were also offering discounted microchipping and vaccinations.
Overall, Woofstock was once again a success. The weather was perfect and the crowd was great. It’s always fantastic to see so many people out and about with their dogs, especially on such a perfect day.
As we were leaving the event, we let Khloee run around a little bit. She ran, ran, ran until she plopped over to rest under a tree. We have one tired poodle now! If you live in Arizona, I would highly recommend adding Woofstock to your yearly pet event calendar. It’s a must see for any dog lover!
