Royal Ramps Product Review + Giveaway

March 31, 2017 By Amanda 38 Comments

Royal Ramps product review
This post is sponsored by Royal Ramps. All text and opinions are those of Dog Mom Days.

If you don’t already have a senior pet in your home, you most definitely will one day. Are you prepared to watch them struggle to jump on the bed or couch? Of course not – we can never be prepared for when that time comes. Thankfully this is the 21st century, so your senior, disabled or injured pet can now get cozy on their favorite furniture with ease. Royal Ramps makes it painless for pets to maintain their daily routine of sleeping or watching TV with you by providing a unique array of modern, stylish ramps. And guess what?! I’m giving you the opportunity to win one!

As most of you know, my tabby cat, Joey, has special needs. He was born with a rare disability called radial hypoplasia which has left both of his front legs severely deformed. While I do everything I can to make life comfortable for Joey (including buying a one story house so he doesn’t have to climb up stairs), there are times when I can’t be there to pick him up or carry him. Currently Joey eats with the other cats on a shelf area near the den so the dogs can’t get to the food. This also ensures that the dogs don’t bother Joey when he’s eating.

Originally I had a small kitty condo that Joey could jump on to help him up to his food station. When we received our Royal Ramps, I put them together to create a nice ramp for Joey instead. This way he wouldn’t have to jump as far. At first he wasn’t sure, but once Joey caught on, he started loving the ramp. He’d even rest on the landing after munching down on his meals.

Royal Ramps product review

Royal Ramps offers several pieces that you can put together like puzzles to create the perfect ramp for your home. I played around with ours quite a bit to see what would work best with Joey’s shelf and our tall bed. The 21″ tall ramp plus landing piece work best for Joey in both areas.

Khloee struggles to jump on our bed because it’s so tall. The 21″ tall stairs proved to be the perfect solution for her struggles. Rather than face planting into the side of the bed when she’d try to jump up, Khloee could just walk up the stairs! She sure did appreciate it!

What I like about Royal Ramps:

  • Modern look
  • Available in neutral colors that will easily match most furniture (platinum gray, charcoal gray, oyster suede, chocolate suede)
  • Designed, manufactured and assembled in the US
  • Machine washable fabric which is easily removable via zipper
  • Multiple height options that are interchangeable to suit your pet’s needs
  • Acclaimed by the American Veterinary Medical Association
  • The suede fabric is impermeable to stains

With six animals, I found that in order to keep the ramps looking presentable they need to be regularly washed. A daily cleansing with a lint roller is also beneficial. The hair may not be as noticeable on the light colors, but on the chocolate brown it’s easy to see. If you have a dog/cat that sheds a lot, might I suggest going with one of the gray colors or the oyster brown.

The versatility of Royal Ramps makes them perfect for senior, disabled or injured pets! And of course if you have a face-planting Poodle like I do, Royal Ramps could be perfect for them also 😉

Oh these would be PERFECT for Nola! It’s important to have ramps and stairs to help protect that long dachshund back, and I love how these wouldn’t look awful in my home. They’re much more stylish than what she has now!

Over the years, I’ve had several furbabies who would have benefited from having a product like this. Right now I have three rescued Treeing Walker Coonhounds, all in the 6-8 year-old range. Actually, my girl, Kyoko, is a minimum of 8 years old and was nearly starved before being dumped at the high-kill shelter I adopted her from just over 6 years ago. The lack of food for however long before she came to me did have a negative effect on her, and while she’s fortunately healthy in most other ways, she is having joint issues much earlier than any of the other dogs I’ve had. She loves sleeping next to me on my bed or on the couch in the TV room, but she’s starting to have issues getting up and down. I’d love for her to continue being able to get up by me, and these steps would be perfect for that.

I I’ve had many senior dogs and now have a girl who is about to turn 7. Those years are filled with the best memories, and they only get better as time goes on. Making sure that my loves have a way to still share the bed along with my heart is of ewual importance! Looks like these steps would be the perfect way to go :).

My bed sits up really high. It’s Izzy’s fave spot to hang out while I’m at work, but it’s just too difficult for her to get up there on her own. These look great and would be perfect.

My furbaby is getting older and I know it’s getting harder and harder for her to jump up on the bed, into the car, etc. I can tell by the way she has to work up to jumping and how it takes her a minute once she’s up there to get up and settled. This would really help her up onto the bed! I love my furbaby SO much and would love for her to have these!

I would love to win these for my dog Dora. She is a 12 rat terrier and she can’t get up and down off the bed at all anymore. These would be great to have so that she doesn’t have to rely on us picking her up and down off the bed all the time. She is fine when i go to pick her up but she squirms alot when my husband does and one day i’m afraid she’s going to flop right out of his arms and get hurt.

I have 5 small rescue dogs that sleep with us in bed and currently they are using a set of boxes to get up and down. Two of the dogs won’t use the stair boxes anymore because they don’t have much grip and they are afraid to slip. These stairs look wider and more solid and I think all the dogs would love to use these instead.
