Meet Leila, Our New Rescue Kitten!

October 28, 2016 By Amanda 10 Comments

LeilaJuly was the three year anniversary of my Edison running away. Edison was my heart cat. I had a bond with Edison that I didn’t know was possible with a cat. When I lost him, the grieving process was terrible. In fact, I was so heartbroken from Eddy running away that I couldn’t bring myself to get another cat. However, Matt and I have been wanting to add a kitten to our family since we moved into our new home. I decided I was finally ready. We’ve waited for the right opportunity because we didn’t want to make any impulse decisions. Well, Wednesday was the day, and I would like to introduce to you my baby Leila, our new Siamese cat!

I love cats.  Yes, I will probably be a “crazy cat lady” some day, but I fully embrace it!  I had cats in my house growing up and I think they are absolutely beautiful, majestic animals.  Animal rescue is something I am very passionate about and June is adopt a cat month, so what better time to bring awareness to all of the homeless cats in shelters that need loving families!

I can’t imagine my home without cats AND dogs.  I grew up with a cat.  Just one.  Her name was Koos.  She died when she was 16 years old – I was 10 (RIP beautiful girl) and it was traumatizing.  My whole life I’ve had cats.  The first animal I adopted when I got an apartment on my own was a kitten named Edison.  Since then I’ve rescued two more cats from an animal shelter.
