Meet Lucas; A Special Adoptable Dog Who Needs a Forever Family!

adoptable dogI fell in love with Lucas last week when I saw him on Facebook. My heart just melted and his photos gave me that “I need to adopt him feeling.” Lucas is a very special boy. He’s a three year old Chihuahua who’s loving, playful and great with other dogs, cats and children! Sounds like quite a catch eh? He sure is. And there’s something that makes Lucas especially unique – he is blind. But don’t let his inability to see steer you away from giving this boy a much deserving home. He’s just like any other amazing dog!

My Fourth Dog Adoption Was A Fail

For months I’ve been wanting to add a fourth dog to our family. Twice I’ve found an American Staffordshire Terrier mix that I wanted to adopt but the same question came up both times: “Do you know if she’s good with cats?” This is what I would ask the shelter volunteers because after all, I have two kitties. And not only that, but my tabby cat Joey is disabled. Although I was heartbroken because I wanted these dogs, I wasn’t willing to risk Joey’s safety. So what happened when I found a fourth small dog to adopt? I risked Joey’s safety.
