In the last week Wynston has gone boating and kayaking for the first time! My mom and I rented a paddle boat on a whim in Payson, and that’s where I found out that I can rent a kayak also! As I discussed in the post about Wynston’s boating adventure, I’ve been really wanting to get out and discover more of what the world has to offer Wyn and I. So today we drove up to Payson to rent a kayak. And let me tell you – it’s my new favorite activity!
Wynston’s First Boating Adventure in Payson, AZ
This summer I’ve been especially struggling with the Arizona heat. Maybe it’s because I’m older or maybe it’s because I want to be more active outdoors. Whatever the case is, the brutal Arizona summer has been keeping me indoors and causing major cabin fever. As of this last week I hadn’t traveled anywhere with Wynston for a month and a half so I felt the dire need to get out of the house. Since my mom has a home in Payson, AZ (northern Arizona) I figured it’d be the perfect getaway for a few days. We could escape the heat, get out of the house and potentially explore. I wanted to take Wynston on a new mountainous adventure because I’ve been craving time in the great outdoors, and turns out we had a lot more fun than we anticipated!
Why Chihuahuas Are Incredible Dogs
I absolutely despise the bad rap that Chihuahuas get. “They are dumb, mean, loud, ankle biters who are good for punting.” The negativity behind the breed name truly breaks my heart. I, too, was uneducated about Chihuahuas before I rescued Wynston but he’s taught me how amazing chihuahuas really are. In fact, a Chihuahua is a perfect breed for me, and I think it’s a great breed for anyone willing to give them a chance. Chihuahuas are the 2nd most euthanized breed of dog in the United States. I want to help change that. I’ve written a post about negative Chihuahua stereotypes, and now I want to focus on the positive side of things – why Chihuahuas are incredible dogs.
Am I Too Dependent On My Dog?
In the past I’ve been accused of having an “unhealthy obsession” with Wynston. While I completely disagree because there is nothing “unhealthy” about my relationship with him, I will admit that I’ve become somewhat dependent on him. Is it a bad thing? I don’t think so. Wynston is not cocaine or alcohol. He’s a dog. A therapy companion. But some people may see it differently. People may not like that I enjoy taking Wynston everywhere with me. People may not like that my entire day revolves around him. But because people don’t like the way I live, does that mean I’m too dependent or have an obsession? Let’s discuss.
4-Legger: World’s First Aloe-Based USDA Certified Organic Dog Shampoo
I’ll never forget the first time I used 4-Legger dog shampoo. I remember being impressed with how lightweight the shampoo was, and how it smelled of delicious lemon PEZ. Well here I am four years later, and 4-Legger is still the only dog shampoo I use. In my dog mom opinion, no other grooming product comes close to how amazing 4-Legger is. The organic ingredients make it the best choice for Wynston, and the new USDA organic certification makes 4-Legger top notch. I also want to tell you more about the new deodorizing sprays, which can be used between baths to keep your dog smelling clean. We traveled with it on our SuperZoo trip so Wynston would smell delightful for his ABC news appearance!
