Debunking Pet Food Myths: Are Byproducts Really Bad?

April 14, 2017 By Amanda 3 Comments

debunking pet food mythsIn today’s world, we are surrounded by a sea of controversy. With technology running the modern consumer’s life, debates about every subject, big or small, are constantly taking place. Just as human parents battle each other on the best way to raise children, pet parents tend to be at each other’s throats for the same reason. The way we feed our animals is often at the center of controversy in the pet space, and it’s no doubt because of the marketing that we’re are subjected to 24/7. Since Millennials are having more pets than kids, the pet industry is now a billion dollar industry. We spend money on our pets like people do on human kids. And just as a human parent could fall into the advertising trap, the same is the case for many pet parents.

There are several myths floating around regarding pet food. The options available for dogs and cats are endless. As human diets change, those patterns are being translated to our pets. I had the privilege of speaking with “America’s Veterinarian” Dr. Marty Becker about myths surrounding the pet food industry. Should My Dog Wear A Collar At Home?

January 8, 2017 By Amanda 16 Comments

Let’s discuss the popular question of “should my dog wear a collar at home?” I went to my personal Facebook page to ask my dog mom and dad friends how they felt about the issue. Valuable opinions flooded my post, and now I’m going to share some insight with you! Of course, I will also be adding my personal thoughts on the matter.

Purina is Bringing People and Pets Together Because Life is #BetterWithPets

November 10, 2015 By Amanda Leave a Comment

#Betterwithpets

I have always been a supporter of Purina.  I trust their products and food, and I adore the people behind the company name.  They truly appreciate pet parents and the fact that we want what’s best for our animals.  I was able to spend some time with some of the friendly faces behind the Pro Plan name in May 2014 at the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge.  The event made me love the company even more and I’ve continued to endorse it (by my own choice) ever since!

This year I had the opportunity to be a part of the Purina Better With Pets Summit in Brooklyn, NY.  I was SO thrilled because, in my eyes, Purina is at the top of the “food chain” when it comes to pet companies.  At the day long summit, Purina focused on exploring the best ideas for bringing people and pets closer together.  It’s a dog mom’s dream!
