This year has been terrible for me. My stepdad has stage four cancer, which has basically made everything suck. My depression has been up and down, and the sadness in my family has been real. But what’s the one constant in my life that I can always depend on? My animals. My babies are always there for me no matter what. Whether I’m having a horrible day or a rare wonderful day, my dogs and cats love me and show no judgement. Sometimes I feel like a bad mom because my depression gets me down, but my six kids always help me stay afloat. It’s Pet Appreciation Week, so I want to share some ways that you can show your pets appreciation!
The Evolution of Wynston’s Easter Bunny
I rescued Wynston in February 2012. He was about 2.5lbs of skin and bones. Wynston was deteriorating from neglect and abuse, but little did he know what type of life he’d come to live.
I remember having some toys for Wynston when I first brought him home, but my fondest memory was going to PetSmart a few weeks after rescuing him to pick up some extra goodies. “Easter” became part of our family that night!
Feed Animals in Need With PetSmart’s ‘Buy A Bag, Give A Meal’ Program
Most of you know by now that I love PetSmart®. I buy all of my pet supplies there, which includes treats, toys and of course food for my dogs and cats. It’s also well known that Wynston is a model for PetSmart, so you could say that I hold a bit of a bias. Although I frequently rant and rave about PetSmart, it isn’t just because they are a great store and my dog models for them. PetSmart is always working to make the lives of pet better, whether it’s your pet or another animal in need. For their 30th anniversary, PetSmart just announced their biggest philanthropic program ever. They hope to contribute more than 60 million meals with the Buy A Bag, Give A Meal™ campaign.
