We’re about a month out from BlogPaws. Can you believe how quickly this year is going by? It’s already the end of May. We are almost halfway through the year! With that being said, it’s not too late to buy a ticket to BlogPaws. Here’s an update on everything that’s going on as we countdown the days to the conference.
Get your ticket!
You still have time to buy your BlogPaws ticket BUT they will sell out, so get yours soon. When tickets sell out, that’s it. No more tickets.
If money is tight, I totally get it. Consider having a garage sale, doing some pet sitting or selling clothes and books to a local thrift shop. Another idea is to secure a sponsorship from a pet company. Our very own BlogPaws community member Lara of Rubicon Days has done just that. Here’s what Lara had to say about partnering with a great brand to get a BlogPaws sponsorship:
I was thrilled to be able to partner with a brand I admire for a BlogPaws sponsorship. This sponsorship came out of an already-established relationship, one that I initiated myself due to my own values aligning with the brand and a genuine interest in an exciting new product. I proved myself through several sponsored posts and when the brand asked for package pricing I wrote up a customized sponsorship proposal. I was extremely nervous about it as this was bigger than anything I’d done or pitched in the past, but I was confident that I could deliver and that the brand was already familiar with my content, presentation and work ethic. I planned to attend no matter what, but the sponsorship was icing on the cake and made it possible to present myself in a more professional manner. My blog is not big by any means, but my success in securing a sponsorship for BlogPaws is proof that it can happen for anyone!
There are many ways to go about getting a sponsorship for BlogPaws. You don’t have to have outlandish blog numbers. You don’t have to be famous. You don’t have to be a huge name in the pet industry. All you have to do is ask. Take advantage of a great relationship you have with a pet company and it could be as easy as that! I’m SO proud of Lara for taking the initiative to build that brand relationship and reach out about a possible sponsorship when the opportunity presented itself. I will add that she was really my first blogging friend and I cannot wait to finally meet her in person after 2.5 years!
I’m speaking!
I’m incredibly honored to be speaking at BlogPaws this year. Bernard of Dog & His Boy and I are putting on a session called “From starting out to cashing out.” Whether you’re a beginner or advanced blogger who’s looking to make more money with your blog, our session will be perfect for you. Bernard and I are going to put on quite a show that you won’t want to miss 😉 Here is an interview that Bernard and I did with Yvonne of BlogPaws!
The resort is GRAND!
This year’s BlogPaws conference is being put on at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa. And when it says “resort & spa,” it truly is. It feels like I’m on a vacation when I’m simply walking around the hotel. The views are magnificent, the rooms are deluxe and the conference area is massive to accommodate a ton of crazy pet people.
Recently, the name of the resort changed to The Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass because it is just that – grand. The name is extremely fitting because the resort reflects all of the beauty that Arizona has to offer.
Pre-conference to-do list:
- Order your business cards and any swag you’d like to give out to brands and fellow bloggers.
- Get vaccination records or a health certificate if you’re traveling with your pet.
- Prepare your red carpet ensemble.
- If you already have a blog, make sure it’s in tip top shape for brands to look at.
- Make sure you have plenty of shorts, t-shirts, sandals and a swim suit for the Arizona weather!
- Purchase sunscreen, lip balm and a hat if you plan to be outside in the sun.
- Download a countdown app on your phone!
- Participate in the #BoostYourBlog10k challenge to grow your blog and social media before the conference. Download the workbook “How to Prep Your Blog For The BlogPaws Conference.”
BlogPaws is right around the corner and I love being ahead of the game so I’m extra prepared.

Looking forward to meeting IRL this year. I think we had breakfast with you last year, of course, I remember you because you were a finalist in the “Nose to Nose Awards”. It will be fun to “meet” again. 😉
