It’s actually happening. I’m going to be a wife! The future Mrs. Genovese, to be exact! (And I seriously can’t wait to change my last name). The time between the proposal and booking of a venue has been very short, but we’re less than a year out from the wedding. Matt and I didn’t have much of a choice because we wanted to get married whenever my baby brother would be home on leave from the Army. Originally we chose 12/30/16 but the venue we wanted was booked that day, so we went with the 29th instead. So……we did it! We put down the deposit, signed a contract and we are rockin’ & rollin’. Matt and I will become Mr. & Mrs. Genovese on 12/29/16 at Villa Siena!
Villa Siena is a mere 10 minutes from our house but when you’re inside it feels like you’re in a dream. It’s so romantic and elegant – the most gorgeous wedding venue I’ve ever seen. I never thought it’d be possibly to have the fairy tale wedding I’ve always dreamed of, but I am, and I’m eternally grateful.

The theme of our wedding will be “winter elegance.” The venue is already so magnificent, that it doesn’t need many flowers or intense decor brought in. I plan to have simple winter centerpieces on each reception table. I’m thinking something with sparkly pine cones. We will also have our choice of color petals in the fountain by our ceremony. Matt and I haven’t decided on any other floral arrangements yet.

The wedding will be around 50 people. We wanted something more intimate so we could truly enjoy our time with everyone. The venue package we chose has an amazing meal package, complete with butler-served h’orderves, salad, bread baskets, and a selection of a main course with side dishes. We’ll have a cake tasting and design appointment in a few months.

What’s nice is that the ceremony is right next to the reception room so everyone can just walk indoors to start partying after Matt and I say our “I do’s.” The ceremony will probably start around 4pm or so. The weather should be nice but we’ll be renting heaters just in case. Luckily the ceremony will be short, but our guests can always enjoy the outdoor ceremony area during the reception.

I will have access to a gorgeous bridal suite and Matt will have a groom’s suite. Our guests will be able to sign our guest book at the grand entrance to Villa Siena.

Dogs ARE allowed at Villa Siena. If they weren’t, we would not be getting married there. It’s going to be the best day of my life. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing man I’ve ever met. (Holy crap – I’m already starting to cry! UGH!)
