Wynston’s birthday party was once again a success. The theme and food choices vary from year to year, and this year I decided to go with an 80s/old school video games theme. I focused on Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong, Sonic the Hedgehog and PacMan.
I encouraged our guests to get dressed for the occasion! Dressing yourself and/or your dog in themed apparel was completely optional. It was really fun seeing what everyone came up. Toward the end of the party I had everyone vote on their favorite costume. The winners were Liv & Spark. Their PacMan outfits were absolutely adorable. All of the dogs looked absolutely fantastic and it was really hard to choose a favorite. The contest votes were pretty even!
I ordered in Mexican food from On the Border and home made some spicy shredded beef. My homemade beef was a hit and truly delicious, if I do say so myself. The dog moms sipped on mimosas while we ate, chatted and laughed over our dogs playing together. I had a lot of fun catching up with my friends and I loved watching Wynston and Khloee interact with the other dogs. Everyone got along famously, as usual.
I had a dog bone guessing game at the party that I thought up last minute. I put dog treats in a clear container and had everyone guess how many were in there. The winner got to take the container with treats home! There were 314 total treats – and it definitely didn’t look like it!
Wynston’s friends brought him birthday presents. He really doesn’t need anything else, as he pretty much has everything. BUT all of the gifts he got are so perfect. Wyn even got his own PacMan collar and bow tie to wear!
Everyone was over for about three hours! Time sure does fly when you’re having fun. I think everyone enjoyed themselves. I have dog parties at my house several times a year and it’s always a blast. I plan on doing a Christmas potluck again this year. Honestly, nothing is more fun than getting together with my friends and their dogs. That’s what life is about for me!
Thanks to everyone who came to Wynston’s 4th dog birthday party, and I appreciate all of the birthday love he got on social media. It never ceases to amaze me how loved he is.
So tell me – have you ever had a dog birthday party or been to one?
