This is my favorite time of year. Not only do I love the holiday season but it’s finally cool enough to get outside and enjoy the weather! Perfect timing, since Wynston just got his cast off. I decided to celebrate Wynston’s cast coming off by taking him on some new adventures this weekend. He still can’t walk full distances, so our adventures were mostly in the stroller. It was a super fun weekend, nonetheless, and we got some great photos!
Wynston’s Weekend Fun!
I’ve been wanting to check out Oh My Dog! Boutique and Spa in Scottsdale for years now. The pictures always looked so amazing but I never felt like going out of my way to visit. I figured now was the perfect opportunity because Wynston is free of his cast. A new toy was in order! So on Saturday we took the snazzy 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport that we’re reviewing up to Scottsdale. It was about a 30 minute drive. The boutique is located in Old Town, which is a hoppin’, busy area. Parking is a nightmare, but it’s fun place once you can actually find a spot.
Overall, I was disappointed by the boutique. Everything was overpriced and their lack of items for male dogs was frustrating. I kind of had that “I drove 30 minutes for this?” feeling. I should really just stick to PetSmart. BUT I did drive all the way out there so we walked around a bit since it was a beautiful day. I took photos of Wynston by a gorgeous fountain and massive Christmas ornament, which I bet is beautiful at night!
Wynston didn’t seem enthused about our trip either, but I did enjoy walking around and enjoying the fresh air.
But it gets better…
My sister, Kim, came into town from NYC on Saturday night so the real fun began on Sunday. Kim and my mom signed up to volunteer at the Ironman Triathlon on Sunday, and Wynston and I met up with them in Tempe during lunch time. I wanted to check out the Ironman atmosphere, and Tempe Town Lake always makes for wonderful photos. That was much more fun than our trip to Scottsdale. Of course we got to spend time with family, but Wynston also had way more fun. He got to eat some tortilla chips at Macayos (a huge shout out to them for allowing Wynston on the patio despite their pet policy) and see the Ironman champion cross the finish line. I allowed Wynston to walk around a bit at the park, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We spent a quick 2.5 hours there, and it was worth it. Both of us were pretty exhausted from being in the sun, but it was a really neat experience!
It’s Thanksgiving week so there’s a lot more fun and family time to be had! Stay tuned for more photos and posts recapping our fun. In the meantime, remember that we have our PetSmart gift card giveaway going on – you won’t want to miss it!
