The new house that Matt and I bought is 2700 square feet of wood floors. I didn’t want carpet anymore, and I got what I asked for! What I also got was daily floor cleaning. I love my wood floors but I don’t love cleaning them everyday, especially with a bad hip. When I was presented with the opportunity to review the bObsweep® PetHair™ robo-vacuum, I jumped on it! A device that will help me with the cleaning on its own? Count me in!
What is the bObsweep PetHair?
The bObsweep PetHair (affiliate link), better known as “Bob”, is a smart floor vacuum that can be programmed to clean for you! This specific one has a large dustbin for pet hair. Have you ever seen that video of the cat in a shark costume riding on a robo-vacuum? Yeah – that’s basically what this is.
What I like about the bObsweep PetHair
- The dustbin can hold quite a bit of hair, which is good for 5 animals, 4 of which shed to some extent.
- You can set it to a timer.
- It can be programmed to clean in several different patterns.
- When Bob is at 15% battery, it will literally crawl back to it’s charging station. It was pretty much the coolest thing to watch.
- The dustbin is easy to take out, clean and put back in.
- It does have a mop option.
- Bob comes with a remote control.
What I don’t like about bObsweep PetHair
- It’s louder than I would prefer.
- It has trouble going over my area rugs, and will often get stuck depending on the thickness of the rug.
- If you want a large area mopped, you’ll have to frequently put cleaner on the microfiber mop pad.
- It doesn’t seem to be efficient for 2700 square feet.
I think the bObsweep PetHair (affiliate link) is best suited for specific rooms or smaller houses/apartments. It picks up debris with ease so I let it run in my den, kitchen and family room. As for the rest of my house, I still clean the floors with a Swiffer. I’d have to direct it into certain rooms or move it if I want other areas cleaned. For me it’s not worth the hassle, I’d rather just Swiffer the rest of the house. Since my family room and kitchen get the most traffic (and pet hair build up), Bob is a great helper for daily cleaning of those rooms.
Overall, I’d recommend bObsweep PetHair if you have a couple of specific rooms for it to clean, or if you have a smaller house/apartment. It really is great for pet parents if you have animals that shed. It bothers me to see pet hair all over my wood floors, and Bob has been able to help with that 🙂

Thank you for an honest review. As with most housework helper, they’re usually good for small spaces. Still nothing beats the old school hands-on cleaning.

Good review! I have a small house so it may work better for me. I’ve been fantasizing about not having to sweep every day!
