For the first time in my Christmas-loving life, I am relieved that the holiday is over. I’ve always been obsessed with everything revolving around Christmas. However, 2018 was such a crappy, difficult year, that at this point I’m just ready for 2019 to be here. During the holiday season this year I was on an extremely tight budget and often times I was feeling alone, two things that make Christmas very stressful for people. Although I was almost counting down the days until December 26th, I did end up having a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with very special people in my life. And of course, everything is okay when I have my son ๐
Dog Mom Days Christmas 2018
I hope that at this time next year I can look back and say to myself, “Wow. Last year sucked but I made it and this year has been 10 times better!” But in the meantime, we made it through Christmas and had a great time.
Christmas Eve day was a great one for Wynston and I. I went to lunch with a friend who is leaving to serve our country, then we spent the day relaxing, playing video games and watching Christmas movies. It was a wonderful day ๐ No drama, no stress. Just how I like it.
For Christmas Day Wynston and I went to my mom’s house. We made our way over there around 11am to spend the day. My mom, stepdad, brother and I opened some presents, snacked and chatted. Mom and I took our dogs on a nice long walk, as the weather was absolutely glorious. When we got back to the house, cooking and relaxing continued.
My step-siblings arrived to the party around 4pm. We started by opening more presents, which is always fun! Wynston got lots of goodies, including a new blankie, toys and dental chews.
For dinner we had my favorite, traditional feast – turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn and lots of pie. My favorite dessert was homemade cheesecake ๐
We had a lovely meal, and the dogs got their fair share…obviously.
After dinner, we got family photos as we wrapped up the evening.
For those of you who don’t know, my stepdad has stage 4 cancer. He was officially diagnosed in 2016. Although I’m always mindful of making new memories with him, I try and make sure that I document them thoroughly. Life is precious, and you never know how long you have with your loved ones.
Wynston and I had a beautiful Christmas, but I’m ready for 2019. We have lots of goals and plans for the fresh start.
How was your Christmas?

I am with you this year. I couldn’t wait for December 26th to arrive. But I was also pleasantly surprised by a lovely Christmas Eve and Day that I thought would be difficult. God does watch over us in our time of need ๐ . I still need to sit down and write my goals for 2019. I have been thinking about them for a few weeks just haven’t put them to paper yet. My Chihuahua tribe and I wish you and your crew a very Happy New Year and hope for 100 times better year then last year!!!!!!
