Did you know that litter box issues are the #1 behavioral reason that cats are abused, neglected and end up in shelters? Dr. Elsey, a feline-only veterinarian for 35 years, has aimed to reduce this startling statistic by helping cats live happier, healthier lives with the creation of Cat Attract™ Litter. Now, Dr. Elsey is also offering a delicious food for our carnivorous furry friends. The cleanprotein™ kibble diet helps your cat maintain an ideal body weight and mass, allowing for an active lifestyle. As a mom to three rescue cats and a person who is passionate about animal nutrition, I’m always interested in learning about healthy food options for my babies. Allow me to introduce you to Dr. Elsey’s cleanprotein diet, which was veterinary-formulated to help promote a healthy lifestyle for your beloved kitty.
The Dr. Elsey’s cleanprotein™ Diet
The main ingredients in the cleanprotein™ kibble chicken recipe are chicken, dried egg product, pork protein isolate, gelatin and chicken fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols). There are also added vitamins and minerals, which are all listed on the Dr. Elsey’s website. I love that the wonderful people behind Dr. Elsey’s are transparent about what’s in the cat food, so pet parents know exactly what we are feeding our kitties. Cats are natural carnivores, and this food is developed with that fact in mind. The large percentage of protein in the cleanprotein diet helps control hunger and maintain an appropriate body weight. When cats are wild, they do not normally eat fruits, veggies, grain or rice. Dr. Elsey’s food is designed around that fact that appropriate amounts of protein are crucial to your cat’s health.
Dr. Elsey’s cleanprotein™ Diet Options
Currently the only cleanprotein dry food option available is the chicken recipe. My cats have zero problem with this. They LOVE the food. My calico cat, Sadie, goes crazy for it. All of my cats also enjoy the wet food, of which there are several recipes available; turkey, salmon, ocean whitefish, beef and chicken. Each one is a paté, and you can even order a variety pack. Sadie loves Dr. Elsey’s wet food SO much that she literally grabbed the can away from my kitten, Leila. Sadie is polydactyl (meaning she has extra toes) so I got to watch her put those toes to use when she pulled the can away for herself. For the initial taste test, I ended up having to open up two cans because Leila wanted some but Sadie kept stealing it…
Currently you can win a year’s supply of Dr. Elsey’s dry food by signing up on their website! This is an amazing chance, and I’d highly suggest entering! My cats love the food, and I recommend any food that my cats enjoy and that I know will be good for them. I want my cats to live super long lives, just like any dedicated cat mom or dad. I feel confident that Dr. Elsey’s cleanprotein diet will help my cats thrive and maintain their very active lifestyles.

You could have split the cans up! I break up the pate with a fork so cats can get to it better. Also serve “mouse body temperature” not straight from fridge for leftover portions.

I also break it up with a fork! Great suggestion to split the cans 🙂

Hi Amanda. Do you recall if the kibble was large and/or hard to chew. I have a senior cat that has a tough time with super hard and large kibble. Thanks!
Amanda says
Hi Jennifer! The kibble was small. This would be a good choice for your senior cat.
