My mom got me started on garden flags years ago. I’m not really sure when they became “a thing” but mom was always the cool person in the neighborhood. You could say she was a trend setter đ Mom was always finding cute garden flags on clearance here and there, and she’d pick up the occasional one for me. Matt and I didn’t have much of a front yard at our old house but I liked to use the flags anyways. They were cute and added a pop of color to a bland front entry, so why not?! We bought a new home a month ago and now that we have a gorgeous front yard I’m much more enthusiastic about outdoor decorations.
Last year I bought my mom a custom flag from Flagology. It had a picture of my brother in his US Army Blues. She cried. Totally worth the money, although her reaction was priceless! I hadn’t gotten around to having a personalized garden flag made for myself until now! Flagology has a plethora of pet designs and I took full advantage.
Trying to find the perfect picture to fit on one of these flags took me forever because I have a billion and one pictures of my dogs. During the process I realized that I don’t have many good pictures of all three of my dogs standing close to each other. I do have group photos of them, but they are horizontal and typically Wynston, Khloee and McKenzie Rae are lined up in a row. Long photos don’t fit on the garden flags so the next best thing to do was find the perfect picture of my Wynston. After all, who wouldn’t want to be greeted in my yard by his smiling face?
The first time I ordered a flag from Flagology, the process was simple and quick. I received the flag sooner than expected, which everyone can appreciate! However, the photo I used of Wynston was dark and had weird highlights, and it just didn’t look good on a flag. I wasn’t sure if it was just a poor quality picture that I used or a mistake with the printing. Flagology was kind enough to reprint the flag for me but turns out I just made a poor choice when picking a photo. The photo I originally used is shown above.
The original photo looks decent but since Wynston’s face is black and the lighting on the top is really bright, it looked super dark on the flag. I bet if the photo wasn’t so highlighted above Wynston’s head, the outcome might have been different. But Flagology kindly let me redo my flag and I couldn’t be happier!
The issue with the first flag I ordered was my fault. I just didn’t pick a good photo. I really appreciated the company being so understanding of the situation. I was really, really bummed out because now I’m obsessed with my front yard and garden flags so I wanted something great. In the end, I got a perfect flag.
This weekend I had a pool party at my home and I got endless compliments on my Flagology garden flag from our guests. I got lots of “Oh my God! Where did you get that flag?!” Of course I’m always happy to brag about how cute my baby boy is, but I was also excited to tell everyone about how great Flagology is!
