Kleanbowl Review and Challenge + Giveaway

Picture this; Your dog is outside in the backyard romping around and enjoying the day. They find something deliciously disgusting to munch on, like bugs or cat feces. Without you knowing it, your dog comes inside because it’s dinner time. As they chow down on their meal, all of those cat poop and bug germs are getting spread throughout their bowl. Sounds pretty gross, yeah? I’d say so. Did you know that a dishwasher isn’t even hot enough to kill all of those icky germs? About 67% of bowls still have Salmonella after dishwasher cleaning! But what if I told you that there IS a way to avoid that? The Kleanbowl™ from Kinn™ gives pet parents a healthier, more eco-friendly alternative to nasty germ-filled pet dishes. The Kleanbowl, designed by veterinarians, eliminates germs commonly found in pet food and water bowls, and I’m giving three people the chance to WIN one!

What is the Kleanbowl and how does it work?

The Kleanbowl is an eco-friendly product that promotes a healthier lifestyle for your pet. There are two pieces to the Kleanbowl – the spill-proof frame and biodegradable refills. The frame is stainless steel and has a built in handle, which makes it easy to pick up and move around. It also has an anti-skid rubber ring on the bottom to hold in place.

When you order a Kleanbowl, it comes with the frame and seven refill bowls. All you do is fill the bowl with water or food, then put the frame over top of it to keep the bowl in place. The frame helps ensure that your dog doesn’t chew on the biodegradable bowl. When you’re ready to recycle or compost the bowl, simple lift the frame and discard the bowl! Easy and convenient for any pet parent.

The Kleanbowl nourish-pet refills are made under US FDA guidelines from 100% compostable and recyclable sugar cane fiber. They can be filled with water, kibble or wet food! You may initially think that water would start seeping through the bowl at some point, but it doesn’t. I most definitely tested the theory in 95° Arizona heat when I left the bowl filled with water on my back patio for a day. You can purchase 50 refills at a time from the Kleanbowl website.

What are the benefits of Kleanbowl?

The biggest benefit of using the Kleanbowl is being able to avoid all of those disgusting germs your dog brings into their food and water bowls. When I see some of the gunk that gets leftover in my pups’ water bowls, I get grossed out. Kleanbowl allows you to simply discard the refill bowl (without worrying about harming the environment) and add a new one, which you know is germ-free! No more cleaning, washing or soaking your pet’s dishes!

Of course the most important benefit of the Kleanbowl is that it’s a much healthier choice for your dog (or cat). Since dishwashers don’t clean all of the bad germs from your pet’s bowls, there’s always a risk of your pet picking up some sort of bacterial infection. Kleanbowl helps ensure that the risk is much less. Dogs and cats tend to gravitate toward more clean water, so if you’re changing out the refill bowl regularly, your beloved animals will always have fresh water to drink.

My animals took the Kleanbowl challenge!

As soon as I put the Kleanbowl down on the floor and filled it with water, my three dogs were immediately drawn to it. They took turns drinking from it. I left it outside for a day, as stated above, and even my cats took advantage. I also put it in the kitchen on the floor next to our pet fountain and I saw all of my animals go to the Kleanbowl for their water. They accepted the Kleanbowl challenge and the Kleanbowl came out on top! All of my animals preferred it to the fountain.

We tested out the 16oz Kleanbowl which comes with seven nourish-pet refills. It was a great size for water and for Khloee and McKenzie Rae who are 15-20lbs, as well as my cats. If I were to use one for Wynston’s food, I’d use the 8oz bowl because he’s so tiny.

Kleanbowl review and giveaway

Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the Kleanbowl from Kinn. Not only do all of my six animals approve, but it’s easy and much more convenient for me. I admit that I HATE cleaning the pet fountains and dishes. Many of you know that I also appreciate any type of eco-friendly pet product, and the Kleanbowl is definitely good for the environment. The biodegradable bowls are a fantastic “tree-free” alternative to Styrofoam, plastic and paper. Yay for saving trees! AND you can compost the refills! That is so awesome.

Are you near a Pet Club? If so, take your dog on a fun shopping trip and pick up a Kleanbowl at your nearest location!

Make sure you follow Kinn on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest so you can share with them how much you love the Kleanbowl!

I would be happy that there wouldn’t be any leftover dog germs in their bowl. I get enough dog germs on my face.

I’ll be honest, but with three dogs and three cats, I’d go broke buying liners. However, I am a volunteer rescue transport driver. I’ve been typically only driving one transport a week lately (I used to drive as much as 1000 miles for 6-8 runs some weekends). We need to be able to provide fresh water, and sometimes even food, for the dogs on the transport so I have to keep clean water bowls with me. This might actually be a great option to use during transports.

Using the Kleanbowl for transports is a GREAT idea! You don’t have to worry about washing it and can easily discard the refills. Good thinking 🙂

I love that the bowls are compost-able. The icky stuff on the bottom of bowls isn’t just gross, it can be dangerous. This is a great way to prevent illness, especially in a multi-dog household.

What excites me most about the Kleanbowl is that I will not have to worry about those nasty germs being in his water bowl. I clean his water bowl out every day and there is always out slim on the inside of the bowl. This is really a great product. Fingers crossed.

I have a boxer that foams when he drinks and always leaves a gross film in the bowl, would be a great way to keep the bowl clean and slime free

I like that it will help keep my dog healthy because the liners can be thrown away which means harmful bacteria will not grow on the dish.
