The best word(s) to describe our year would probably be…roller coaster. It sounds super cliche, but 2019 was full of ups and downs. I’d like to think there were more ups than downs, but either way it was pretty crazy at times. I am happy to report, however, that I conquered many of my goals and accomplished a lot.
Heading into 2019, I wrote a post about our goals and plans for the year. It was well-received, and I wanted to do the same for 2020! I guarantee you this – Wynston and I have a BIG year ahead.
Dog Mom Days Goals & Plans for 2020
Continue to travel.
Wynston and I visited 12 states in 2019. We may not travel to as many states in 2020, but our travel will be just as fun, and even more meaningful. Our adventures will include:
- Colorado
- Nevada
- Minnesota
- Puerto Rico
- …and more!
Wynston and I are driving to Colorado alone for my friend’s wedding in January, but the rest of our trips will include my boyfriend, Jordan. If you didn’t catch the recap of our 2019 travel, see it here! We traveled about 25,000 miles!
Move into a house.
Wynston and I have been in an apartment for 2 years. I absolutely LOVE our community and home, but it’s time to make a change. Originally I was going to purchase an RV, but those plans have changed since I started dating Jordan. Jordan and I have known each other for 8 years, so we aren’t exactly strangers 😉 . Our lease is up in March, at which point we’ll move into a house.
At first I was hesitant about “settling down” and getting a house. However, I’ve learned that just because we have a place to call home doesn’t mean we can’t still travel. It’s all about finding balance. But know this – a camper/RV is still in our future…
Open an online store.
I have decided to launch a Dog Mom Days online store. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but now I have the support and knowledge I need. In the store I will carry items such as t-shirts, stickers and travel kits for dogs! The t-shirts will be super cute and stylish, with the words “dog mom” or “dog mom life” on them. It can be hard to find trendy shirts to match my dog momager status!
If there’s anything specific you’d like to see in our store, please let me know! I want any and all feedback, because after all, the store is ultimately for you, not me.
Publish a book.
It is time. It’s time for me to publish a book. I started writing it this year, and if all goes as planned, I will publish it in 2020. I admit this is the last goal on my list, simply because publishing a book isn’t exactly a quick process. I need to actually finish writing it first…
2020 is going to be an incredible year. I feel it! I’ve spent the last couple years on a path of self-discovery and improvement, so this will be my year to really shine.
Do you have any big goals or plans for 2020?!
Cara Sue Achterberg says
Great goals – big ones too! I’ve been thinking about my goals for this year and realize that a few small ones might make the biggest difference in my life. One is to spend less time with my phone. I tend to pick it up at every lull in my life, conversation, etc. Instead, I hope to read more, pay attention to my surroundings, and enjoy the quiet.
I also plan to turn off computer/social media/phone at dinner time and not look at it again until morning. I let social media interrupt me all day/night and it leads to less sleep/more stress/lots of wasted time. Instead I’ll schedule my social media time each day so that it doesn’t steal valuable writing time or me time.
My third goal is to walk/run/get outside every day with my dog Fanny and not stress the time/effort. Anything is better than nothing and daily will add up. She needs the one on one time (we foster dogs so she always has to share me with lots of dogs/puppies) and I need the exercise.
Good luck with the book! That’s a big one. If I can help in any way – please don’t hesitate to ask!
