Wynston has made me the luckiest dog mom in the world. He’s the extra most bestest Chihuahua to ever exist. Okay, I may be slightly biased, but he’s truly my heart dog. I often wonder if I’ll adopt another Chihuahua after Wynston, because I feel like he’s one of a kind. He’s taught me that Chihuahuas, although tiny and portrayed poorly in the media, are delightful, loving, dedicated dogs. I personally think Chihuahuas are the best dogs ever, and here I explain why.
Let’s Honor Our Pets While They’re Alive – Not Just When They Pass
It’s no secret that dogs live for an incredibly unfair amount of time on this Earth. Ten to twenty years isn’t nearly enough time with our beloved furry friends, whom offer us so much unconditional love and companionship. One thing I’ve noticed in the last six years or so of blogging is that pet parents tend to wait until their babies pass away to “honor” them. Some people don’t even realize how much their dog, cat or other pet meant to them until they are gone.
It breaks my heart, really. This is why I spend so much of my life dedicated to giving Wynston the best experience on this Earth as possible. For many years I’ve been stressing to people that it’s so important to honor our pets while they’re alive, not just when they pass.
Why Our Car is My Dog’s Happy Place
Wynston and I have done a ton of traveling since 2017. Our most enjoyable travel has been in the car, where we’ve made innumerable memories. With the exception of one family trip, Wyn and I have been on all of our road trips in the company of each other – just he and I. I personally love traveling alone with my son. We never really have a plan or schedule, and we don’t have to worry about anyone else. Since discovering our passion for travel, I’ve realized that now our car is my dog’s happy place. But why is that? To me, the answer is clear.
Our Goals & Plans for 2020
The best word(s) to describe our year would probably be…roller coaster. It sounds super cliche, but 2019 was full of ups and downs. I’d like to think there were more ups than downs, but either way it was pretty crazy at times. I am happy to report, however, that I conquered many of my goals and accomplished a lot.
Heading into 2019, I wrote a post about our goals and plans for the year. It was well-received, and I wanted to do the same for 2020! I guarantee you this – Wynston and I have a BIG year ahead.
Reflecting On Our 2019 Word Of The Year – Adventure
In December 2018 I decided that our 2019 word of the year would be “adventure.” In my heart and gut I just knew that 2019 would be adventurous…because I wanted it to be. And my, oh my, was it ever. Wynston and I traveled to 12 states, I grew as a confident woman, and I started dating a man who would forever change me. It was a year to remember, although it definitely wasn’t easy.
