The Evolution of Wynston’s Easter Bunny

March 23, 2017 By Amanda 1 Comment

The Evolution of Easter BunnyI rescued Wynston in February 2012. He was about 2.5lbs of skin and bones. Wynston was deteriorating from neglect and abuse, but little did he know what type of life he’d come to live.

I remember having some toys for Wynston when I first brought him home, but my fondest memory was going to PetSmart a few weeks after rescuing him to pick up some extra goodies. “Easter” became part of our family that night!

From Strays to Sisters: The Heartwarming Bond Between McKenzie Rae & Leila

January 7, 2017 By Amanda 3 Comments

straysMatt and I rescued McKenzie Rae from the county euthanasia list in November 2015. She came into the shelter as a stray, then she came home to us as a fearful, malnourished angel. Although McKenzie Rae (her name means “hope for a new beginning”) became ill and almost passed away in the first month we had her, she’s now super healthy, active and friendly. After about two days of being with us, Leila began to show us her playful, spunky personality. It resembles that of McKenzie. Before we knew it, Leila was attached to McKenzie Rae. I fully believe that animals can sense what each other has been through, and my two beautiful girls connected immediately.

Wordless Wednesday: Khloee is Two Years Old!

May 31, 2016 By Amanda 12 Comments

Khloee

I was walking into my bedroom on a weekday afternoon when my phone’s text message alert went off. It was a picture message with the question “know anyone who wants a three month old puppy?” It was the cutest white fluffy dog I had ever seen in my life. An hour later, I was on my way to the boarding facility where Khloee was abandoned when Matt called me. “We’re getting a new dog,” I told him. Well, it worked out because here we are two years later! Khlo was born on June 1, 2014 and we rescued her in September 2014. She’s two years old now and still my baby girl 🙂
