Despite not being able to throw a party or travel this year for Wynston’s 8th birthday, I decided to do something that would involve ALL of our followers – a Facebook Live event! Honestly, it worked out better than I anticipated. Since the turn out was good and the response was phenomenal, I think we may do more events like this in the future. But anyways, Wynston had an excellent 8th birthday, and even with everything we’re going through, I managed to enjoy a day of peace among chaos.
Wynston’s 8th Birthday
The day started on a super positive note, with a birthday brunch. My best friend, Tamara (aka Auntie Mo), invited us out to brunch to celebrate my son. The weather is finally cooling down in the mornings, so we enjoyed a delicious breakfast outside at Joe’s Farm Grill. I ordered Wynston his own plate of bacon (because #bestmomever) and he absolutely loved every bite of it.
After breakfast with Auntie Mo, we spent the rest of the afternoon preparing for Wynston’s Facebook Live birthday party! I rearranged my living room to make sure we had a video-worthy area for the broadcast. I decorated with items from the Dollar Tree, and I think they turned out super cute!
Wynston’s birthday dinner consisted of filet mignon, steamed carrots and wild rice. I prepared it before the live event, and he ate it all on camera! It was an absolutely delectable meal, if I do say so myself. I also made a human and doggy cake, so Wynston and I could both enjoy the sweeter side of his 8th birthday celebration.
Our Facebook Live birthday bash consisted of Wynston enjoying his meal and opening all of his presents! I cannot believe how many gifts my son received from our Amazon wish list. It took us a good hour to open all of the gifts. Wyn even tried to annihilate me with toys during the broadcast, and he whipped his new Gumby toy across the room, almost taking my head off in the process…

I think our live event to celebrate my son was ultimately a success. I’m really not sure how boring I was during the video, and I’d appreciate any feedback you may have from watching it. 🙂
Wynston and I were both SUPER exhausted after a full day of birthday fun. My living room and kitchen are still a mess, as I work to recover from the big day. That was definitely the most energy I’ve used spent since being in the hospital. Afterwards we got a full night’s sleep, and Wynston already enjoyed the use of his new snuffle mat for breakfast. We are so blessed!
We had a few people ask if they can still send gifts, and the answer is ABSOLUTELY! We are going through a really hard time right now with my health, and the fact that I am currently out of work. Treats and other necessities are incredibly appreciated, as I cannot afford to make purchases right now. Here is a link to Wynston’s Amazon wish list.Â
Thank you to everyone who wished Wynston a happy birthday, attended our Facebook live (or watched the replay), and sent gifts! Especially during this rough patch in my life, I appreciate all of your love, support and kindness more than you know. Despite everything that’s going on right now and my ridiculously high stress level, yesterday I just felt peace and happiness. Knowing that my boy is so incredibly loved is absolutely priceless.
