On December 19th, 2013, I was standing at my kitchen counter thinking of a short, catchy name for my blog. I never thought that not even two years later, I’d see “Amanda Yantos – Dog Mom Days” on a news story!
“Easter” is Wynston’s oldest and most favorite toy. I bought it for him from PetSmart in March 2012, just weeks after I rescued him. That means Easter is almost as old as Wynston! “Easter” is still in great shape and it brings Wynston much happiness and comfort 🙂

On March 23rd, I emailed my state legislators asking them to vote NO on a bill that would lessen the protection for farm animals against animal cruelty. These animals include, pigs, chickens, horses, cows and other farm animals. Well as of March 30th, the Governor of Arizona, Doug Ducey, veto’d the bill!
Puppy mills are large commercial operations that are created for the purpose of breeding dogs for money. Profit is priority over the dogs’ heath and well being. Puppy mill dogs used for breeding are abused, neglected and their offspring come with a slew of health problems. We must work together to shut down puppy mills and stores that support the sale of the puppies.
Today my best friend and I went to the 9th Annual Ahwatukee Family Dog Show for the first time ever. This year was actually the first time I had heard of it, although I’ve been living in the valley for over 16 years. The show included vendors, demonstrations, contests and rescues.
