In November 2015 I had the privilege of attending the Purina Better With Pets Summit in NYC. It was a phenomenal learning experience, and I sure hope I can attend again in the future! The theme of this year’s summit was emotional wellness and during the discussion panels, the talk about stress in our pets peaked my interest the most. The more I delve into the life of animals, the more I realize that they are so extremely emotional and sensitive, just as humans are. So how do we manage our pet’s stress? Is there good and bad stress? What can I do to make my dog or cat less stressed out?

Purina is Bringing People and Pets Together Because Life is #BetterWithPets
I have always been a supporter of Purina. I trust their products and food, and I adore the people behind the company name. They truly appreciate pet parents and the fact that we want what’s best for our animals. I was able to spend some time with some of the friendly faces behind the Pro Plan name in May 2014 at the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge. The event made me love the company even more and I’ve continued to endorse it (by my own choice) ever since!
This year I had the opportunity to be a part of the Purina Better With Pets Summit in Brooklyn, NY. I was SO thrilled because, in my eyes, Purina is at the top of the “food chain” when it comes to pet companies. At the day long summit, Purina focused on exploring the best ideas for bringing people and pets closer together. It’s a dog mom’s dream!
Small Dogs Have a Wild Side, Too! #NaturalBalance
Think small dogs can’t have a wild side? Think again! Khloee and Wynston love being active, especially when it means participating in outdoor activities. With cooler weather finally upon us, it’s now hiking season in Arizona. Busy dogs who love the outdoors deserve a food that is going to feed their inner ancestral cravings! Natural Balance® has introduced their new Wild Pursuit™ dry and wet food, which is grain-free and high protein. It’s a great choice for pet parents looking for a nutritious food that offers a balanced diet for their active furry friends.
Startling Statistics for National Pet Obesity Awareness Day
As the obesity rate of Americans continues to grow, so does the obesity rate of our pets. Obesity is just as deadly to animals as it is to humans. Is your dog or cat overweight? Excess weight puts your pet at risk for diabetes, heart disease, shortened life, high blood pressure, kidney disease and many forms of cancer. Sound familiar? That’s right – obesity can cause the same problems in our pets that it can for us! Pretty scary, huh?! October 7th, 2015 is National Pet Obesity Awareness Day according to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention. So get out, take your dog on a walk and start helping your pet lose weight!
