I adopted my cat Edison in September 2010. He was six weeks old. Edison and I had an undeniable bond. He was a Turkish Van – white and fluffy with a gray head and tail. In May 2011, I rescued Sadie when she was six months old. Edison and Sadie immediately bonded. They were pals and they did everything together. On July 22, 2013, Edison ran away. Matt and I had just gotten a new house and he disappeared three days after we moved in. I looked for him everyday for about three months. Honestly, I still look for him. I still cry for him…and I’m not the only one. When Edison left, Sadie became very depressed. She started howling, gaining weight and urinating on the carpet. I felt horrible. I felt like I could have easily prevented him running away. Not only was he gone but Sadie was depressed.
Preparing for a Professional Pet Photo Shoot
Wynston started professionally modeling in October 2014. His first photo shoot ever was for the Martha Stewart Pets spring clothing line, carried at PetSmart. Originally he was selected as an alternate in case the client needed another dog for outfits, and he ended up being used for five ensembles! The thought of Wynston modeling professionally was exciting but terrifying, and I was extremely nervous. Much to my surprise, Wynston did very well! Since then, I’ve learned a little bit from each photo shoot we’ve done. I now have a solid list of things I do to prepare myself and Wynston for our big day.

Saturday Shopping with my Son!
Today I took Wynston out to Hobby Lobby. I was feeling motivated to buy some items to make Christmas decorations, since I saw all of the Christmas merchandise out a few days ago. Since Hobby Lobby is dog friendly, I figured I’d take Wyn out for some “mommy and me” time!
Product Review: Rocco & Roxie Stain & Odor Eliminator
As pet parents, we’ve all experienced accidents in our house. Whether it was from house training, a stressed out cat, or perhaps a dog who didn’t want to go outside in the winter (Khloee!), we’ve all been there. Since I’ve had animals, I’ve never found a carpet cleaner that completely removes pet stains. I tried Bissel, Resolve, Nature’s Miracle – you name it, I tried it. We frequently get our carpets professionally cleaned because we have four animals and our house is the gathering place for dog get-togethers. I’ve had 20 dogs in my house at once. There’s bound to be an accident or two! But in between carpet cleanings, I was at a loss for a great stain remover. Until now.
Surviving in the Sweltering Arizona Heat
It’s hot outside. And I mean really hot. None of this 90 degree stuff – I’m talking 117 during the day and 100 at night. It’s brutal. Did you know that Arizona shuts down airports at 117 degrees because it’s not safe to get airplanes off the ground? Yeah, it’s that bad. Luckily the temperatures are supposed to drop to around 102 next week. YAY!
