Lake Havasu City is the first place I’ve ever visited with Wynston where I was overwhelmed by the possibilities. I knew the city was a popular destination for water sports and vacation, but it’s really so much more. Lake Havasu City is a fun place for people of all ages and interests. Whether you want to visit a dog-friendly bar, take a boat excursion or do some seaside shopping, the area has something for you. Our trip to Lake Havasu did not disappoint, and we ended up doing much more than anticipated. In this post not only do I share our experiences, but I also share reviews from all the places we visited. I also have a couple of fun side stories to share. I hope you enjoy our recap!
Fall 2018 Arizona Pet Events
Fall is the busiest season for pet events in Arizona. The weather is finally nice enough for people and dogs to enjoy the outdoors, and all the fun holidays are happening! You can bet we’ll be at several pet events this fall and winter season. Here is a list of fall 2018 Arizona pet events.
Wynston’s First Kayaking Adventure!
In the last week Wynston has gone boating and kayaking for the first time! My mom and I rented a paddle boat on a whim in Payson, and that’s where I found out that I can rent a kayak also! As I discussed in the post about Wynston’s boating adventure, I’ve been really wanting to get out and discover more of what the world has to offer Wyn and I. So today we drove up to Payson to rent a kayak. And let me tell you – it’s my new favorite activity!
Wynston’s First Boating Adventure in Payson, AZ
This summer I’ve been especially struggling with the Arizona heat. Maybe it’s because I’m older or maybe it’s because I want to be more active outdoors. Whatever the case is, the brutal Arizona summer has been keeping me indoors and causing major cabin fever. As of this last week I hadn’t traveled anywhere with Wynston for a month and a half so I felt the dire need to get out of the house. Since my mom has a home in Payson, AZ (northern Arizona) I figured it’d be the perfect getaway for a few days. We could escape the heat, get out of the house and potentially explore. I wanted to take Wynston on a new mountainous adventure because I’ve been craving time in the great outdoors, and turns out we had a lot more fun than we anticipated!
Our Stay at the Pet-Friendly Amara Resort & Spa in Sedona, AZ
Last week I lost my job. Crappy, right?! Meh, not really. Lack of training sure does make a job difficult! I almost have a sense of relief, and now I can focus on my blog again! I’m going to enjoy my time by going on more adventures with Wynston. To celebrate life, I decided to head up north to Sedona, AZ for a couple days to take advantage of the cooler temperatures. On the IHG website (I always stay at IHG hotels) I found the Kimpton Amara Resort & Spa in Sedona. What got me was their pet policy: “At every Kimpton boutique hotel, we invite you to bring your furry, feathery or scaly family member — no matter their size, weight, or breed, all at no extra charge. If your pet fits through the door, we’ll welcome them in.” Incredible, right?! I booked a room and started on our 2.5 hour drive a couple days later. Well, let me tell you – the resort did not disappoint. In fact, I received the best service EVER, and I travel a lot…
