In the last week Wynston has gone boating and kayaking for the first time! My mom and I rented a paddle boat on a whim in Payson, and that’s where I found out that I can rent a kayak also! As I discussed in the post about Wynston’s boating adventure, I’ve been really wanting to get out and discover more of what the world has to offer Wyn and I. So today we drove up to Payson to rent a kayak. And let me tell you – it’s my new favorite activity!
Wynston’s First Boating Adventure in Payson, AZ
This summer I’ve been especially struggling with the Arizona heat. Maybe it’s because I’m older or maybe it’s because I want to be more active outdoors. Whatever the case is, the brutal Arizona summer has been keeping me indoors and causing major cabin fever. As of this last week I hadn’t traveled anywhere with Wynston for a month and a half so I felt the dire need to get out of the house. Since my mom has a home in Payson, AZ (northern Arizona) I figured it’d be the perfect getaway for a few days. We could escape the heat, get out of the house and potentially explore. I wanted to take Wynston on a new mountainous adventure because I’ve been craving time in the great outdoors, and turns out we had a lot more fun than we anticipated!
The Dog Friendly Monument Peak Loop Trail in Payson, AZ
So, let’s recap. January has been flippin’ nuts. My brother came home on leave from the Army, Matt and I got engaged, we booked our wedding venue, I attended the bridal expo and bought my dress, I had some dental work done, we bought a new SUV and I announced my BlogPaws Ambassador & Speaker news. After an insanely crazy last week of January, I decided I deserved a day of fun! Since Matt and I just bought a brand new Subaru Forester, we decided to head up north to Payson, AZ for a day of hiking with the pups! Our destination: Monument Peak Loop Trail.
I Said “Yes!”
My baby brother, Matthew, came home on leave this past week. He serves in the US Army and I hadn’t seen him in one whole year. Of course, we were all beyond excited for Matthew’s homecoming. We’re a close family and occasions like this one mean a lot of celebrating and quality time together! My mom has a second home in Payson, AZ so this weekend Matt and I headed up there with Matthew and my mom. Payson got about six inches of snow, and we wanted to have some fun! Little did I know, it’d be the most memorable Payson trip EVER!
