In Arizona, it just started getting cold. It’s hitting as low as 37° at night, and the coldest day we’ve seen was 59°. Tomorrow it’s supposed to be around 80° but it’s still really cold at night. That being said, we’re a WARM state! I know a majority of the country is already experiencing snow. During this time, animal shelters are overloaded. Some are super cold, with concrete floors for the dogs to lay on. So how can you help your local shelter during this busy, cold time?
DIY Holiday Treat Jar: Give the gift of #NaturalBalance!
Treats are an item that I always have on hand. I only use positive reinforcement methods of training with Khloee and Wynston which means lots and lots of treats! I have a whole cabinet full of treats and I keep them in my pocket, in my purse, on my desk – they are everywhere! But what is a good treat to reward your dog with? One of my personal favorites are the Natural Balance® Mini-Rewards. They are small and don’t leave a mess. These treats come from a long line of delicious options that Natural Balance has to offer!
The Dog I Saved, but Couldn’t Save.
The famous saying “you can’t save them all” in animal rescue really rings true tonight. Nothing is worse than wanting to so badly save a dog and you just can’t ultimately save them.
I belong to a lot of lost & found pet groups on Facebook. When I was scrolling through my feed, I saw a picture that caught my eye. It was a very sad looking dog, with electrical wire around her neck. She was found on a street corner, tied to a lamp post with the wire. Like, really?
How do I help my stressed or bored dog? #BetterWithPets
In November 2015 I had the privilege of attending the Purina Better With Pets Summit in NYC. It was a phenomenal learning experience, and I sure hope I can attend again in the future! The theme of this year’s summit was emotional wellness and during the discussion panels, the talk about stress in our pets peaked my interest the most. The more I delve into the life of animals, the more I realize that they are so extremely emotional and sensitive, just as humans are. So how do we manage our pet’s stress? Is there good and bad stress? What can I do to make my dog or cat less stressed out?
