We’re about a month out from BlogPaws. Can you believe how quickly this year is going by? It’s already the end of May. We are almost halfway through the year! With that being said, it’s not too late to buy a ticket to BlogPaws. Here’s an update on everything that’s going on as we countdown the days to the conference.
I’m buying a #BlogPaws ticket, but what exactly am I paying for?
The BlogPaws conference was the first “real” conference that I had ever attended. Before BlogPaws I never thought a conference could be so fun and life changing. Those concepts just didn’t go together for me. Let’s be real – those “life changing” conferences can cost upwards of $500-$1000 to attend. These big events are very expensive to put on, so it makes sense that tickets are a bit of the hefty side. However, a BlogPaws ticket only makes a slight dent in your wallet at a fraction of the mainstream conference price (check out specifics here). It’s a very small price considering how much the BlogPaws conference has to offer. Let me break it down for you.
The 2016 BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Award Nominations are Open!
Last year I received the 2015 BlogPaws Best New Pet Blog nomination. I will tell you that the minute I got the news was one of the proudest moments of my life. Although I didn’t ultimately win the award, the nomination lead to an insane amount of opportunity, and I’m still reaping the benefits. Give another blogger the opportunity that I’ve been blessed with by nominating them in one of several Nose-to-Nose award categories! Nominations are open until April 11, 2016 and winners will be announced at BlogPaws 2016 in June.
Five Types of People Who Should Attend the BlogPaws Conference!
If you aren’t acquainted with the BlogPaws community, you most definitely should be. We are the largest online community of pet lovers. “BlogPaws is an inclusive, global community of pet enthusiasts who write about and support pets via social media. We connect brands with pet parents and pet parents with each other, 24/7/365.” This year’s annual BlogPaws conference is in Phoenix, AZ and if you love pets, this conference is for you! In fact, the conference is for a lot of different types of folk. I’ve compiled a list of people who will walk through the doors at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa for the conference this year.
From Banker to Blogger
I graduated from Arizona State University in May 2011. I was 22 years old. Needless to say, I was pretty proud of myself! A Bachelor’s degree already at the age of 22 and I now had my entire life ahead of me. But I also needed a job. That was fine with me – I was ready to start making money instead of spending it on student loans. The problem? I couldn’t get a job in my field of study, which was history and culture. I went to school to be a high school history teacher but by the time I was ready to graduate with my Bachelor’s, I still needed to get certified as a teacher. Forget it. I started applying for jobs. On August 1, 2011, I started a job as a banker. Little did I know, it was the beginning of a miserable career that would turn into a dream come true.
