In my quest to discover trails and hikes in Arizona that I can rate as “easy,” I decided to check out the Wild Horse Pass Interpretive Trail with Wynston and my mom. At only 2.5 miles round trip, I thought this mostly flat, dirt trail could be perfect for my bad hip and small dog. It’s a great length and it’s not strenuous. I’d rate the trail as “easy” but I’d also rate it as “mediocre.”
Mommy and Me Monday – Running Errands!
It’s the continuation of our “Mommy and Me Monday” series! I had some errands to run today so it was the perfect opportunity to spend some time with my boy. Luckily most of the places we shop are dog friendly so I packed up Wynston and headed out, blanket and treats in hand.
Chase Field to Become the First Dog-Friendly MLB Ballpark in the U.S.
This is super big news. Well, for me at least. I’ve been a HUGE Arizona Diamondbacks fan since I was 13 years old. I watch every game of every season. I’ve been to playoff games, too many spring training games and have waited long hours for player autographs. Two years ago, Matt and I took Wynston to “Bark in the Park,” a dog friendly baseball game at the D-back’s Chase Field. The proceeds benefited the AAWL and we had a designated area to sit during the game. It was amazing. I just wished that I could take Wynston to a game whenever I want – and that dream just came true.
Dog-Friendly Stores and Restaurants
Recently I was talking to one of my neighbors as we ran into each other while walking our dogs. We were gabbing about how beautiful the weather is but that it’s been unusually hot lately. The topic of Arizona summers came up and we discussed how it’s nearly impossible to walk our dogs when it’s 115°. It’s just WAY too hot for ourselves and our dogs. That brought us to talking about dog-friendly stores because it’s nice to be able to walk our dogs around air conditioned places. With that being said, here is a list of dog friendly stores and restaurants, although there may be others in your area that aren’t on the list.
Dog Friendly Arizona Hike: Hieroglyphic Trail
Today Matt and I took McKenzie Rae, Khloee and Wynston to the Superstition Wilderness area to check out a new trail. We chose to try the Hieroglyphic Trail, as it was said to be a fairly easy, short hike. Well, it turned out to be not so easy.
